Lena's POV. “You are nothing but a clown I raised. You will die worthless and nobody will think you ever existed, not me, not even Dominic,” Elaine fumed at me with a knife in her hand. I pulled back breathing rapidly. She launched at me, screaming furiously, and I ran in any direction, my heart throbbed and my hands trembled. She was a few inches from thrusting the weapon at me when I tripped on my feet and fell to the ground.

No work talk. Elma stared at the photo for a long time. Linda was the most “always-on” person she knew. If Linda could do it, maybe she could too. Elma replied with a thumbs up. She didn’t type “same” or “me too” or “proud of you”. Just the emoji. Then she put her phone face down on the bench. Screen to wood. The way you put down something heavy. Destiny noticed. She always noticed. “Phone break?”

He slowed down dramatically for exactly two steps, then started running again and crashed into my legs in a full-body hug. “Mami, look at my car!” “I see there’s a new vehicle on this property without zoning approval.” “It’s a sports car.” He grabbed my hand with both of his. “Come. But not too fast because Elmo said I’m not allowed to run.” Elma appeared in the doorway wearing loose shorts, an oversized green T-shirt, and her hair in a high ponytail. “Maya,” she said with a long sigh, “I just want to say upfront that this was not my idea.”

Then a hand went up. “It’s y equals mx plus b.” I turned toward the voice. The guy sitting next to me was Hispanic. Sharp jawline. Curly hair. Blue eyes. Arms like tree trunks. “That’s correct,” Mrs. Payne said. “And your name?” “Marcelo,” he replied. “My name is Marcelo.”

It was folding up, and they needed the money. But immediately, I paused by the door; my world froze. Sitting at a desk, poised and professional, sat Elara. My hands trembled, and my pulse hammered in my ears. Her eyes met mine for a fraction of a second, and I saw the shock and confusion mirrored in hers. But she quickly straightened, blinked, and looked back at her papers. The CEO entered, followed by the manager, and my head cleared just enough to put on a mask. “I am guessing you both have met?” the CEO asked, curiosity sharp in his tone as he looked from her to me.

Should we let the pack know about this?” Chloe asked trying to lighten the mood, Emma had a sad look as Lincoln was her best friend and she expected him to understand the joy she is feeling right now since she finally had a mate. The silence was interrupted by a call from Lincoln’s phone, he slid his hand in his pocket and retracted his phone without taking off his gaze from Caleb. “Spicy chips, your baby needs it now…now,” Elaine yelled, he pouted angrily before staring at Chloe who held tightly to her laughter.

'We mean no harm'. Dell claps her hands, grabbing our attentions. 'Dick's coming alive,' she says. True enough, Elwyn grunts slightly as he turns and squirms on the ground, amongst the bushes. 'The fuck?' he curses. Slowly, he pulls to his knees, comprehending his position at the same pace.

I nod my head, indicating that I understand him. He smiles widely and steps forward, kneeling to pet behind her ears, "You are so incredible, Amaris," he murmurs, burrowing his face into her neck, inhaling deeply, taking her scent into his lungs. "Can you shift back?"

She was grateful for this peace but sometimes it gets really lonely. I take deep breaths, have a clear mind I remind myself I felt it was a comfortable distance to do the spell, placing my left hand forward I let energy play on my fingertips concentrating hard I say the spell "Plaet mi et tu domle" the same time I let the power roll of my palm it starts off as a small circle then it kept growing and growing, I take a step back the suckage strong as it grows to a small black hole it suddenly vanishes.
