Silence spread across the hallway. “So the famous Zachary Knight is actually a coward.” Some students nearby started snickering. Zachary shot them a glare, instantly silencing them. “You don’t know who you’re dealing with,” he warned. “And neither do you,” I replied. Then— I punched him. Straight across the face. Gasps echoed through the hallway. Zachary stumbled back in shock. “I’m not one of your victims,” I told him coldly. “You picked the wrong person to bully.”

His pulse refused to slow down. *Pathetic.* That was the word for this. For all of it. Three years of being humiliated by someone and still, still, lying in bed every morning hoping for one more glimpse of him before school forced them back into their assigned roles .... bully and joke, golden boy and punchline. A fist landed on the locker beside me, just next to my head and even without turning around, with my heart in my throat, I swallowed and froze. "Turn. Around." A cold voice breathed into my ear, and with my heart pounding blood into my ears, I slowly turned around, and raised my head up to meet with angry green eyes staring hard into mine. His dark, ink black hair was tussled over his forehead and his jut, hard jaw was lowered to his chest as he stared at me with a grim look on his gorgeous face. Dave. Mom smiled happily. I couldn't still wrap my head around the fact that my dad was a bully in highschool. I mean dad was always calm and quiet and loving. I could remember when I told him about the neighbor who I think was stalking me and he told me he would give him a friendly greeting and I have never heard from that neighbor again. I see him but he never says anything bad to me. I can't even picture Dad being a bully; he is so timid. "Did you like the time you spent with Vincent?" Mom asked making me go silent for a while as I pondered on the question.

"If you want to survive here, stay out of trouble—especially with the BB girls and Zachary." "BB girls? Who’s Zachary?" Lowering her voice, Olivia explained, "Zachary is Harrington’s biggest bully. And the BB girls? They’re our own mean girls—like the movie, but worse." Riley smiled nervously, hiding her sweaty palms. "I hope I never meet them."

"I'm sure they're playing together. He's a tough dog and can handle himself." "He's a ten-pound Yorkshire Terrier." This summer he let a chipmunk chase him through the yard. He ran away like a lion was after him. The only reason I wasn't ten grand richer from America's Funniest Home Videos was because I couldn't get my phone camera out in time before the chipmunk lost interest and gave up the chase. I walk down the short hallway, scanning the one bathroom in the home, and push open the door. A white cloud billows out settling at my feet.

Ailee stood at the small kitchen table, stirring the soup while occasionally glancing toward the window, making sure her children were playing safely. In the front yard, Loudy, Lowly, and Lucille were playing. The three five-year-old twins looked happy, despite their different personalities. Loudy, with a serious face, was always trying to organize the game. Lowly, who is quiet, observes and obeys all her brother's instructions. Meanwhile, the cheerful Lucille sat separately at the edge of the yard, petting a small sheep she called Berry, her favorite pet. Yes, that was the pet Mrs. Lyana had given the triplets, there were supposed to be two other sheep but they were already in the stable.

The big fellow seems to think he is the size of a tiny dog. "I think they hunt during nighttime; it would be our biggest chance of infiltrating their home. Hopefully, they are keeping Ryan prisoner at this location," I look over at Blue, who tilts his head at me. "You're sure that he is here?" The zombie dog nods at me. He seems intelligent enough to understand that barking here isn't a good idea. I think it's funny that my team members are all mutated animals. My male lizard is named Cuddles, the zombie dog is named Blue, and then I call the female lizard Lizzie.
