Louise Penny Series Novels & Stories

Before Lizzie could protest, there was a knock at the door—two sharp raps that cut through the chatter. “That must be the lawyer,” I said, heading to open it. Standing in the doorway was a tall woman dressed in a maroon skirt suit, her hair pinned in a sleek twist. She looked effortlessly composed — sharp lines, controlled expression, eyes that didn’t miss much. Penny. “Thank you for coming,” I said, extending my hand, trying to sound civil. And maybe, also show off my ring. Just as a subtle backoff. She looked at it for a fraction too long before taking it—polite, but distant. “Roman asked me for a favor,” she said smoothly. “And when he calls, I don’t say no.”

I recalled some photo albums in the bookcase and resolved to look through those, as well. Finally, I opened the third box, digging through some well-read books and a few other items. At the bottom was a pile of black books, the pages dog-eared, and the spines well-worn. The front of the books contained only a label with a set of dates written in Penny’s spidery hand. I opened one, scanning the first few pages until I figured out what I was reading. Penny’s journals. There were ten of them, all documenting different spans of her life. I found the one that corresponded with the year she found Katharine and I started to read.

LYON'S POV I should’ve looked away. Hell, I wanted to look away. But there I was, half-hidden behind a rack of novels, clutching a stale cup of coffee and watching two kids roam the bookstore like they owned the place. They didn’t notice me. Why would they? The girl — Penny, I think I heard — was a firecracker. All chatter and excitement, bouncing from shelf to shelf like the floor was a hot fireplace. The boy trailed behind, quieter, more grounded. Eyes too sharp for his age as he sound cautiously to his sister.

She also pulled a key out of her breast and unlocked the chest, only to grab a black pouch. “I just need one more…” Penny breathed. “The purple one.” When she opened the black pouch, Ruby noticed a faint glow that lit up Penny’s features and made her eyes sparkle with mischief. A purple one? Ruby thought to herself. A Purple what? She wondered if she was able to look inside of the pouch to see what Penny was looking at, but Penny closed it quickly when she heard footsteps outside of the bedroom door. She quickly locked the pouch back in the chest and put the chest away before turning her attention to the door, just in time for it to open and Rick stood before her.

Sure enough, in the days that followed, Carwyn Levi came every day to pick up Grainne from work, then the two of them went to school to pick up Harry. Living on such days, Harry is happy every day, he gradually feels that he also has a father who loves him just like other friends. Louise's new collection this season has been designed, just released, and sold out just like last season. In the industry, Louise has smoothly climbed to a position equal to Gloria. Grainne naturally became a great god, and Liam had promoted her to the deputy. Currently, she holds two positions, so her salary has increased several times.

Or like now, when Penny, who was just an interior designer, was suddenly representing Zaeve in signing a contract. He wisely did not comment and only asked, “Penny, do you want to have dinner tonight?” “I have things to handle today.” “Okay. I’ll go back to Bauer Builders and report to Mr. Bauer.” Penny nodded. After Lucas left, she got up and saw Maisie diligently cleaning. She seemed a bit uncomfortable today, unable to crouch down. Penny approached and saw marks on her neck. It was as if someone had choked her. She frowned. “Did Chris hit you again?”

Oh, I am too early to even cuss him. He reached for my hand which made me freeze and place it over his thigh. “What would you like to eat, Hya?” He asked as he rubbed my sides. I felt uncomfortable with it since a lot were watching. But somehow, part of me was already used to it. “The fact that we aren’t at your wedding because it was rushed and we are out of the country surely breaks our heart…” Penny said as she reached her chest. All of them mimicked Penny. She had curly red hair and a round-shaped face… she was also voluptuous and gorgeous. I just can’t keep my eyes off those beautiful curves. Her lips were small but full… It was the shape of a heart.
