Love Is An Illusion Novels & Stories

"Maverick, are your ears broken, or are your comprehension skills just that bad? Let me tell you one more time—I don't love you anymore. I will never marry you. I can't wait to get as far away from you as possible." He stubbornly insisted, "Lia, you're just saying this out of anger. You loved me so much before. How could you just stop loving me?" "Maverick, my love for you faded a long time ago. Ever since Emma came back, you've ignored me over and over again. Believe it or not, I truly don't love you anymore."

That she would fight. But she hadn’t. And now, she had done it again. The soft chime of the café door closing behind her felt like a gunshot, shattering the last illusion I had clung to. She still loved me. I saw it in her eyes, in the way her breath caught when she looked at me, in the way her fingers had trembled when she touched me. But love wasn’t enough. Not in her world. Not when the man she was bound to was Damien Laurent.

We had dreamed of having two kids—a boy and a girl—a perfect family of four. Now, this house no longer contained happiness but was filled with deception. I stood on the balcony, remembering those old memories as tears rolled down my cheeks. After a long while, I finally made up my mind—I didn't want Reynold anymore. Just as I turned to go back inside, I saw his car slowly pulling up and parking at our front door. From the balcony, I watched him laughing and talking intimately with Monica in the car, looking exactly like a couple deeply in love. When he glanced up, Reynold suddenly spotted me, and a flash of panic crossed his eyes.

“Forever, even in silence.” I remember our first night together, the way he trembled when he touched me, how he made love to me like he was discovering religion for the first time. He kissed every part of me like I was made of prayers. When it was over, he pressed his forehead to mine and said, “I will never let anything take you from me.” Funny how the world makes liars of lovers. Noah didn’t ask about his father much. And when he did, I’d give vague answers. “He was strong,” I’d say. “Smart. A man of big dreams.” All of which were true, even if the truth itself was a lie.

Some even maliciously speculated that there must have been an inappropriate relationship between him and Yvette, or else he wouldn't have trusted her so blindly. These rumors cut deep. Elliot turned to alcohol, isolating himself in gloom. There were countless times he wanted to contact me, hoping for my forgiveness and help. But every time he picked up the phone, he didn't know what to say. He knew he had brought this on himself. If only he had trusted and respected me from the start, this wouldn't have happened. To pay off his debts, he had to apply for regular jobs. But with his reputation in tatters, few companies were willing to hire him.

She left me for Micah all those years over money, and I was bitter about it. "But when you died and truly disappeared, I realized you were always the one I loved most in this world. I didn't care if you were a fake heiress. What can I do to get back what I lost? "Addy, after everything, I finally understand that my love was for you. I made so many mistakes, and I don't expect your forgiveness. I just wish I could talk to you and our daughter every day." He only hated me because he thought I was just like Micah, who had also taken someone else's rightful place?

“You’re just a shell, Aria. You’re empty. So you wouldn't understand what love is. What it means and feels to be in love. Loving someone and mating with them are two different things. Which do you think is stronger?” “Love,” Aria scoffed. “Love, Mia, is an illusion. It's not real. It's just something your brain makes up, to fill a space. Sooner or later, you’ll both be tired, and that is when you’ll realize it was never love. That it was never real.”

I needed to go home, something was tugging in my chest, this feeling… It was years ago and I had dispelled everything about it. I wanted her… I wanted my toy. I stood holding my chest. “I think I'll be leaving right about now”, I said and walked out without looking back. I needed to get away from all these and into her arms, everything felt assured with her by my side. No this wasn't love, it could never be love. Love was a feeling created by the mind to deceive us and make us feel better when we weren't. A mere illusion of the mind. *** ANNIE

Sometimes she would prepare some and make me crave them. She treated me like a daughter, she is in her late fifties. She has never been married, she did say she was in love once but it didn’t work out well for her because the man married someone else. I asked her how she had handled that and she said- “love is an illusion.” I didn’t understand what she had said but she broke it down, love is what we feel, the same way we feel cold and we feel hotness, it comes and goes, if you want it to stay and become real- you have to work for it, he didn’t work for it, she worked for it. Later on he got bored and proposed to someone else on her birthday. It was messy.

Alice said, getting down from the table. "You seem to like him alot" Liana said and Alice looked at her. "I know he's not your boyfriend" She added and Alice was surprised. "How....." "I saw it in his eyes,it wasn't love" Liana said and Alice's face fell. "But you are in love with him" "I have a crush on him" Alice mumbled and her mom smiled. "I saw that, that's why I'm bringing this up,because I saw the way you look at him, your reactions too" Liana muttered.
