Once Rejected, Twice Mated
Leaving my gaze on her, I watched as she stepped forward, wiping her hands on her dress with a serious look dancing in her eyes.
“Gregory,” she called softly, “before I speak, you must promise me something.”
I narrowed my eyes at her, “What now?”
“Promise me you won’t flip,” she said, her tone firm. “Your anger is… frightening, even though I hate to admit it”
I scoffed, “I’m not a beast, say what you want to.”
She swallowed hard, then whispered, “The twins were born of different fathers. One belongs to you.”
The air left my lungs that instant and then it finally came back, I tossed my head backwards, letting out a low laugh.
