"Oh, Mr. Armstrong, it seems you can't handle the truth. I meant what I said. Anyway, whether you sign or not, I'm getting this divorce."
As I walked out of his office, I turned back one last time. "Chandler, don't think for a second that I can't live without you."
His fingers turned white as he stared at the divorce papers on the desk, as if trying to burn a hole through them with his gaze.
His expression was cold and angry.
As I left the office, Karen walked toward me.
"Ms. Elledge, let's talk."
"I don't have anything to say to you."
Karen chuckled. "Oh, come on. Don't you want to know how Chandler and I got together?"
