RUINED BY MY BROTHER'S MAFIA BESTFRIEND
That nearly breaks me, and I swallow hard as I hand over our son to Massimo, who tucks him into his side as if he's been carrying babies his entire life.
"Hey, bambino," he says softly, all his attention fixed on Luca. "Nice to meet you."
Luca gurgles happily, and Massimo turns his attention back to me, his eyes fixing on the backpack I had slung over my shoulder. "What's in there?"
I shrug it off my shoulder and hand it over, my stomach flipping as Massimo takes the backpack without complaint. "Diapers, wipes, ointment if he gets sore, formula, and bottles. I washed them all this morning before I got in the rideshare to come here."
