The woman couldn't help but roll her eyes, pulling away slightly to insist, "which you are!" Luka doesn't disagree it, only going on to say, "in that case, then... well, I'd love for you to explain it all to me, sometime," he mumbles, his eyes flitting down to their entangled hands where he runs a thumb across her knuckles. He goes on, unable to meet his eyes as he does. "I'd love for you to show me this new world you've made, Livi. It's all yours, and I can't wait to learn all about it... to be a part of it," his smile grows ever so slightly, shrugging as he adds, "only if you'll have me, of course-"

I asked, tears clouding my eyes again as I stared at him. I was going crazy, asking for what I shouldn't ask for, but I didn't want to care. All I just wanted was for Luca to prove to me that he'd still be able to touch me even after what he had found out, for him to make me realize that he would touch me whilst not caring about who had fucked me. “You look like you desperately want me, Rina. For you to be putting up a challenge” he smirked. Right! He should translate it in whatever way he wants to.

“I don’t care if it’s tomorrow or a year from now. But I’m not waiting forever.” ‎ ‎My heart pounded. ‎ ‎Luca wasn’t asking. ‎ ‎He was staking his claim. ‎ ‎And God help me—I wanted to be his. ‎ ‎I licked my lips, my voice quieter than I wanted it to be. “Spring.” ‎ ‎His grip on my hand tightened. “Spring?” ‎ ‎I nodded, my stomach fluttering. “Spring feels… right.” ‎ ‎Luca exhaled slowly, his fingers brushing over mine. “Then spring it is.”

Luke's voice turned soft all of a sudden, his words pouring out like a romantic poem. "Emily, from the moment I saw you, I knew you were different. I've been thinking about you every day since then. I was at that bar, waiting for you, because I knew it was your usual spot. My heart beats for you, and I crave your presence in my life. The thought of anyone else kissing you, holding you, makes me angry and jealous. I know I shouldn't rush things, but I can't help myself. I want to be the one you turn to, the one you love. I want to wake up every morning with you by my side and fall asleep every night with your hand in mine."

My voice cracked when I started to speak to him, " How long do you want to torture me..I can't stand it, Luca..I can't see that you are always lying without talking to me.." A small tears slipped past of my eyes as I remembered all our happy moments together. Sniffing my nose, I started to speak again, stressing on my words this time, " I know, you can't hear me but I..I want to tell you that..I am waiting for you..I am waiting for you to get married to me...I am waiting for you to take me to our first honeymoon trip beside the shores..I.."

Luke said, his voice contemplative, “about all the places we want to go and the things we want to do. It feels like there’s an entire world waiting for us.” I snuggled closer to him, feeling his warmth and love envelop me. “I can’t wait to explore it with you. There’s so much out there, and I want to experience it all by your side.” Luke’s gaze softened as he looked at me. “We have so many dreams and plans. But right now, I just want to savor this moment with you. It’s perfect.”

I say, shaking my head and feeling like shit at my slip-up. Luka’s the only one of the three between Kira and Kaia who hasn’t met their mate yet and I know how much he secretly yearns for one. I have to be more fucking sensitive in the future. I walk towards my water bottle and empty the thing before I realize Luka’s staring at me. When I turn to face him, he has his arms crossed with an extremely awkward look on his face. A small part of me knows what it is, while the other feels pissed off.

“Afraid of what I’d feel if I got too close again.” Her breath caught, sharp and fragile. “You don’t…” Her voice cracked, and she pressed her knuckles to her mouth before lowering them again. “You don’t understand. I thought I already lost you.” Luka’s thumb brushed across her knuckles, deliberate, a mockery of tenderness. “You never lost me,” he whispered. “I’ve missed your touch every night.” Her eyes fluttered shut, lashes trembling against flushed cheeks. She was caught in the dream now, tangled in her own longing, unable to see the trap closing around her. Luka didn’t need to push harder. He only needed to wait.
