Troubled Heart
Lilac’s voice, soft as falling snow, gently joined the music, singing the lyrics barely above a whisper.
“Her eyes like midnight glow, they steal the moonlight’s fame. Each step she takes, oh darlin’, just whispers out my name.”
Her voice was sweet. She was hesitant at first but gained confidence as she sang softly along. I peeked upward, noticing Makayla’s eyes widening in surprise, her heart fluttering in reaction to Lilac’s unexpected singing. Lilac remained completely unaware of her audience, lost in the song.
“She’s a melody unsung, a tune I long to play. And in her arms, I’m home, no matter where I stray.”
