As I watched him leave, I wondered what the Lycan King looked like. I had heard countless rumors about him. They said he was the youngest Lycan King, only twenty-four years old. He took the throne after killing his own father. No one had dared challenge him because they were all terrified of him. His ruthless and bloody methods were always the center of discussion whenever his name came up. That was all I knew about him. Or perhaps that was all anyone knew. "Ravenna." I heard someone call my name. I looked over and saw Lycon.

He was the High King of Lenerum, a Lycan berserker like his father before him. The old king had been feared throughout her village. No one spoke his name, afraid to summon his shade from the abyss. There were whispers that the Lycan King had to put down his father. The old king was so gone in madness that he had ripped the head of a visiting dignitary clean from his shoulders.

I ran away and hid for five years and to finally get an answer to all my questions. The young boy that would always appear in my dreams experienced something that turned his heart to stone. He lost a loved one and because of that; he became the candidate for the Lycan King’s throne. The day he became the Lycan King, he started to punish the race of the person who killed his brother; witches. He loathed them so much that he bathed in their blood.

"The Lycan king, the son of the first lycan," I say. "What's a Lycan?" Ryan asks, still looking confused. I look at him for a moment seeing that he really doesn't know who I'm talking about.

Looking up I saw the Lycan king was holding the door open for me while one of his hands was extended for me to take. This was the first time I am looking at his face and not just his face I am looking at him. He looked like someone carved him out of a stone. He is tanned with sharp and defined jaws his eyes are the colour of Amber. He looked nothing less than a god but he looked kind of scary just like we have all heard about him, a ruthless killing machine. I stared at him before I got out of the car avoiding his hand. I wasn't interested in his help in any way he had done more than enough.

“The Lycan king will be here by noon, and the presence of everyone is needed downstairs. The order insists we all welcome him in the next 20 minutes." The person said and then I recognized the voice, it was the head maid. As luck would have it, she didn't come in, she only spoke from the door. I cleared my throat, attempting to steady my voice. "I'll be there shortly," I managed to reply, my voice strained. This was the first time I'll be meeting someone so powerful especially the Lycan king, so I would try my best to look presentable. His reputation for being extremely cruel and vicious was well-known across the entire kingdom.
