Some small, dumb part of me had hoped we'd both land the leads and get to stand on a stage together again, the way we used to as kids doing elementary school plays with paper crowns and bedsheet togas. But Caesar could smell the faint scent of jasmine on her, so clearly. "Let's go," Lola hooked Caesar's little finger, "The current Lola wants to date the current Caesar... a pure date." Caesar didn't immediately respond to Lola, he turned to the side, spotting the bodyguard hidden in the shadows. Lola was humming in a cheerful tone the adapted words, still lyrics from the opera. I rested my back on the roof plates as I looked at the moon hovering above in the sky, shining mockingly at me. Something about Maki's reaction doesn't seem right. I mean, I know there are some idiots who would start crying if it were her. But I was totally caught by surprise after seeing the tears streaming down her cheeks. I cannot understand it, no matter how much I think about it. After all, those tears of hers hold a deep meaning. Tears are how the heart speaks when the lips fail to say how much they've been hurt.
