“Big day, huh?” Sage turned to see her friend and coworker, Maggie, leaning against the café’s doorframe, a cigarette dangling from her lips. Maggie had the hardened smile of someone who’d seen too much of life to be surprised by it anymore. Her greying hair was tied back with a bandana, and her apron bore coffee stains that refused to wash out. “Big day for vultures,” Sage muttered. “Say the word and I’ll toss sugar syrup on their fancy loafers,” Maggie offered, exhaling a cloud of smoke.

Her nervous face seemed relieved. After seeing it, I started eating again. While chewing the juicy steak in my mouth, I suddenly remembered the girl with a mask. The one and only Magda. I stopped eating and leaned my back on my seat. I remembered that Magda is living in the village where Angela lives. The village is small so it's possible she knew the mystery woman. "Angela..." I called out. She looked at me and stopped eating. "Yes, Clark?" she asked. I took a deep breath and released it slowly.

As it is, no one could see him except, of course, me. All they could see is an hovering dragon. "Don't move, Megan." He ordered and I stopped. I was just few feet away from Mrs Spears and the mansion's entrance. "You don't need to try anything funny." I watched him control bricks with his other hand. I half yelled as I ran towards Mrs Spears, pulled her down with me to dodge the charging bricks and we disappeared into the mansion. I released her from my grip and I noticed she had lost consciousness.

Soon her attention was back on track. Maddie walked home from Magic square through the city. It was getting dark, but she wanted to walk through the snow in the freezing cold, to get her head clear again after all that material. Shake off the magic again. On the way, she met a couple in love. She wondered what it would be like, if she was dating. Maddie walked past the town hall, with the stone staircase, she turned left to the Martini Church. There were two elderly men who belonged to the Elder clan on the bench, and they nodded to Maddie.

“You should try and practice using your magic. We need to see the extent of the damage.” “I feel fine, I’ve been feeling fine for a while now.” “Cordelia.” I sighed, rolling my eyes. She always called my name in that no nonsense tone when she wanted to have her way. “Fine.” “Practice in the garden.” Morgana ordered as I stood up to follow Maria. “Last time you burned the carpet in the magic room.” She gave me a pointed look, “The Persian carpet, pretty expensive might I add.” Both Maria and I raised an eyebrow at her, but we both headed out. “Now, I want you to try simple growth spell.” She pointed at the lemongrass, “Start with this.”

I don’t know how to describe them, I’m not a fashion expert, but I can at least tell they match her blouse. 'Someone won’t be getting a job on the red carpet,' Matthan sniggers. I ignore him. “Right on time again. I’m Impressed,” Maggie compliments, not even turning her head to look at me, but no doubt she either scented or heard me coming. Maggie is fifty-six but looks late 30s if you ask me, and she’s incredibly slim, bordering on bony. She may not have muscles or curves, but I still wouldn’t want to take her on in a fight. I hear her father used to be a Beta in another pack and I just know that means she can kick all our asses.

The next morning Maggie was ready early. She sat on her knees on her sofa looking out the front window waiting for Zane to drive up. I’m acting like a teenager! Maggie laughed at herself. It had been a long time since she had been excited to see a man and living in such a small town, well, to be honest, the pickings were slim even if she had been inclined to date. Just as she was about to go check her makeup in the mirror for the thousandth time that morning, she heard a deep, rumbling sound coming down the street. Her eyes widened as a black motorcycle came to a stop in front of her house.

Bella cleared her throat to get Grace's attention, "Mrs. Morgan, Sophia, please come with me. Meggie is waiting for you." Grace snapped out of it and signaled to Sophia. Sophia said, "Thank you." Bella nodded and led the way. The Norman estate was indeed vast. With fewer guests this time, it seemed even more expansive. They passed a large fountain, entered a spacious villa, crossed a long living room, exited through the back door, and walked through a small bamboo forest before reaching the villa where Meggie lived. The air was filled with a faint scent of agarwood, lingering long. Meggie, a devout Christian, used agarwood to purify the air.

She interrupted him and smiled sweetly at me. "I'm Maggie but my close people call me Maggs. And of course, I give you full permission to call me Maggs as well because you're beautiful and I think I've seen you in papers so you're beautiful and a celebrity. I'm the owner of this place so from today onwards whenever you come here, I'll serve you personally and you'll have a special discount as well. And if you need t-"

The sister she had always outshined. She continued to run until she got to a medium sized house, with a very large compound. The windows in the house were still on. This was Maggie’s house, her best friend, the one person who would understand, who would share her anger and her hatred for Keira. Maya pounded on the door, her hands shaking, as tears filled her eyes she could barely see. She was about to knock again when the door opened and she could see Maggie preparing to leave, she was dressed in a black skimpy gown and Maya could tell she was going to a club.
