Chapter 3 "Merci," I murmur to him, my voice barely above a whisper. Jaxton's head snaps toward me, his dark eyes sharpening. "Oh, you're French, yeah?" I turn to face him fully and straighten my back, lifting my chin just a little. "Yup." The word comes out breathier than I intend. "I'm Serena." His gaze drops to my lips; it lingers there for a heartbeat too long before flicking back up to my eyes.

And so, she let her mother guide her down the rock and off it, before they headed back to their rented cottage at a little forest not very far from the heart of the city. And while she lay on her mother's laps that night, at the balcony of the little cottage, awaiting her father who was away for a meeting with the Alpha King, little Carida watched the stars in the dark night and full moon, smiling enthusiastically as her mother caressed her silky black hair and told her the tale of the renowned 'Moonlight Serenade' that had started at the waterfall of Elgarion, several decades ago. A mysterious serenade it was. One that was also renowned as 'the dance of the goddess' as time went on.

I felt the silence stretch and the room feel small. But then -the door rattled. "-Is everything alright miss?" The salesman asked, breaking the moment. immediately snapping me to reality. We both retreated. "Yes I'm alright," heather responded, turning away. I stood in silence.

I long for this connection, this communion of souls. As Adrien's fingers trace delicate circles on my skin, Noah approaches me, his warm breath brushing my neck like a caress. The intensity of this moment is palpable, and I can't help but close my eyes, surrendering to the melody of their gestures. The outside world fades, and only the present moment exists, vibrant with an almost electric energy.
