The arrow shot the vampire, and it stopped fighting, stiffened, and dropped to the ground. “Fuck! Andrews!” The archer cursed, looking at his friend dead on the ground. My head whipped towards Amber, who cracked her knuckles and flipped the makeshift stake in her hand before launching herself at the archer. The archer took back his stance and charged arrows at her. But she deftly sidestepped and ducked those arrows. Her steps were precise and calculated–just like how we were trained in camps. Was she trained, too? The archer groaned in anger, finding all his arrows used. He tossed his bow away and closed the distance between him and Amber, using his supernatural speed.

A stabbing pain ripped at his back again and he remembered the moment an arrow had pierced him. How long ago was that? Anyways, the fear of having to spar with him got my head back into the game and it made me remember one simple fact— I was a trained archer. Everyone in my previous pack— the Moon Viper— was trained in archery the moment they clocked five irrespective of their rankings. It was a known fact that everyone from the Moon Viper pack was exceptionally trained in archery. And as luck would have it, I was the second-best archer after the Alpha but since they counted me to be irrelevant, they gave that title to the Luna instead. I didn't care though. Archer sat on the side of his cot, head bowed, nerves fraying. “I am afraid that you brother’s health is worsening. She saw his muscles flex as he raised the bow, leading her to believe it was heavy. I glare up at him, daring to challenge his hungry eyes even if it's one against five. "You won't touch anything." I hold his gaze, irritated that I have to crane my neck to see his face. Being short is a damn curse. He chuckles and nods at his friends, who appear behind him with scary-looking smiles aimed at me. "That's where you are wrong, kitten," The guy with the shades says, smiling wickedly. His lips are cruel. "We are five against one, and last time I checked, you aren't good at using your magic against werewolves—I saw alpha Blake repel your magic. Now, we aren't as strong as an alpha, but we are still five people."
