He wasn't going to die. As a physically healthy, fully realized immortal, Malakai’s body would instantly regenerate whatever blood he lost. His heart would keep pumping, his marrow would keep producing, and his veins would keep refilling. To the new leader of the blood-born, Malakai was the ultimate prize—a never-ending, self-replenishing blood bag of pure sustenance.

There were the remains of dead Rogue Immortals! Rogue Immortals were Cultivators who had passed the Nascent Soul, Nirvana, Apotheosis and Grand Completion Realms. After the Great Completion Realm, they must survive the Ordeal. If they succeeded, they would turn into real Immortals and soar to Heaven's Realm above. They would be released from the cycles of life and death. They could continue cultivating and become Immortal Lords and God Kings.

Next time I saw the pack doctor I was going to see if I could talk to him alone and see if he knew a way to tell. I know that the doctor I saw today said they were immortal, but the fact was I was immortal which would make them part immortal.

That the immortality blessing would repel Malachai's essence without exception. And it did. And the corruption ricocheted off her defenses. Slid away harmlessly. But the work of keeping three great tasks going at once proved too much even for an immortal Guardian. The genocide of the Moon Tree's entire network. It is the barrier against concentrated Void corruption. Her Guardian mind became one with every wolf in her vicinity. All at once and while keeping her physical body intact and defending against Davin's regular attacks.
