"This better be important, Davina. I'm dealing with a crisis."
I walked to his desk and placed both hands on the polished wood, leaning forward so he had to look at me intensely.
"I'm pregnant," I said. "And it's yours."
The room went absolutely silent.
Michael's face was unreadable, frozen somewhere between shock and fury.
Then, slowly, a smile spread across his face, which is far from loving, caring, but calculating.
“Let me pretend I didn't hear this, but is that so?" he said quietly. "Well then. I suppose we have a lot to discuss."
