Mai and Brandon walked into the already opened door. Brandon was now walking. He could use his legs again after a successful Operation. "Of course not" Everyone replied almost immediately. "Mummy, i got myself a girlfriend" Eden shouted as he entered the dressing room holding Phoenix. Arianna immediately turned. She gasped at the little girl beauty. "Who's she?. She's so pretty" she said. "Oh! That Phoenix, my daughter" Draco said " You're so pretty Phoenix, do you know that?" Eden said, touching her cheek and surprisingly, she smiled lightly.

Draco growled. Daemon frowned. "You're reassigning my responsibilities?" "I'm reminding you that we have an intruder." Draco answered back. Daemon grin and said, "The intruder isn't flirting with me." "The Crimson Mistress isn't your assignment." Draco roared. Draven failed to suppress a laugh. "Oh, this is getting entertaining." Daemon looked between Draco and me before a slow, knowing grin spread across his face. "I see." Draco remained expressionless. "You see nothing."

Mom's complaints were cut short as she followed the officer, going deeper and deeper inside the precinct. "Where are we going?" she couldn't help but ask. No one answered her, but she found out very soon. In the large morgue, the officer led Mom and Cindy to stand beside a body. "Here's Ms. Flora Saddler. We've found her for you." Mom lifted the white sheet with trembling hands. Cindy leaned in as well. But the moment she saw my lifeless, still-open eyes, she screamed and collapsed to the ground. All color drained from her face.

Everyone in the living room turned to look. Damon strode in, flanked by more than a dozen men who quickly surrounded Drake and his group. Drake's face darkened, while Tom's eyes lit up with relief. "Mr. Sumner!" he called out. He knew it—trusting Damon had been the right decision. He and Valarie were saved! Damon didn't acknowledge him or respond. Instead, he walked straight over and sat down across from Drake. "Mr. Mummery, this is Saintornia, not Meristate. You don't get to act out here," Damon said, his tone cold and sharp.

“Please be careful Luna, he is stronger and more cunning than he looks.” I nodded my head at her and stroked her face one last time. They arrived at the scene where Ariel was being treated by the doctors and discovered that it was clustered now with men of the pack standing and watching as the doctors tried to save Ariel ’s life. The doctors had done good work in trying to save her because even though unconscious now, they seemed to have successfully stabilized her by flushing out the Wolfsbane from her bloodstream. When Damien laid eyes on Ariel , he became heartbroken at her condition and started to blame himself again for what had happened.

“Because from where I’m standing, it looks like you’re protecting her. Again.” Damon didn’t answer. Lysandra let out a bitter laugh, shaking her head. “You’re pathetic.” She turned her gaze back to me, eyes full of disdain. “Enjoy your little victory while it lasts, Omega.” With that, she turned on her heel and stormed off, leaving nothing but icy silence in her wake. I let out a slow breath, willing my hands to stop shaking. Damon didn’t move for a long moment. Then, finally, he looked at me.
