“Anna. The one I dated before. I messed up but—” “Joshua,” his mother cut in sharply, her tone deadly calm, “that woman is engaged to your uncle. The Sinclair heir. The man keeping this family afloat!” Josh blinked like he had been slapped. “What?” he breathed. “She is Alaric Sinclair’s fiancée. Do you know what that means for us?” “She’s... she's married into our family?” Josh croaked, face going pale. “Engaged. “Now listen closely, you are going to leave this place together with your crazy mother and never return here.” I looked at my new alpha, well he will not be my alpha for long since he is kicking us out. But what hurts me about his words is the fact that not so long ago this person looked at me with nothing but love in his eyes. But today those very same eyes look at me with disgust like looking at garbage. Another thing that makes this hurt, is that this person is my uncle.

It was the moment when the bedroom door opened while she was lost in thought. It was James, her ex. “How’s uncle?” James didn’t see Valeria at first and when his eyes landed on a confused woman; they both kept quiet. Mrs Stella explained to him, introduced them both and left the room. "I was sorry at first and felt bad for leaving you at the altar. But you–I didn’t know you could be such a desperate gold digger. You married my uncle who is in a coma. Don’t you have any shame, Valeria?” James spoke as he approached Valeria with a stern expression of hate. He couldn’t get over the fact that she moved on within hours.
