“I don’t lie.” A million thoughts burst through Elaine’s mind like a log in a raging fire. Benjamen was the one person she had looked up to, the man she owed her life to. Elena's POV I was still in shock over what happened yesterday, immediately the woman realized what happened. She quickly ushered everyone out and spoke to them about hopefully keeping their mouths shut about what happened. I got to find out that her name was Sophia, and one of Valerian's top security team members was a very skilled shifter. She was quite older too.

And now I was getting kicked out, I knew this was exile. Aunt Maya was going to be more than happy to have me live with her. But I didn't want to, Derrick was probably going to change his mind and tell me he felt the same way for me. But that was never going to happen. Elaina let it go, since in a way she guessed she did look like a monster with her neck and leg covered in stitches.
