I felt powerless, and the masks I was showing everyone seemed to be crumbling in a way I hadn't expected.
I raised my left hand and looked at my trembling finger. Without thinking, I made a fist and slammed it hard on the sink. Once, twice. After the fifth time, I lost count as my hand began to ache with a sharp pain, something I could almost feel radiating up to my elbow.
Looking in the mirror, tears were falling again, uncontrollably, and I had a helpless expression I could no longer hide. I used to be a very happy person, but now, when I'm alone, I can't help but feel lonely, sad, or angry.
