So I’m feeling a little stupid, mixed with mad, and a little terrified. “I know you have, I just meant that he needs to hear it from someone that doesn’t give a shit about him.” she says pointing at herself. I look at her shocked. You want to meet him?“ I ask the words finding it hard to leave my mouth. “Yes.” She says looking at me like she accepted my challenge. “Only if you want me to meet him.” She says looking at me shyly. “He wants to meet you so bad, you have no idea.” I say and she looks at me surprised.

But then she showed up and everything was no longer the same. Her. Even though it happened hours before, I could still clearly remember how meeting her and talking to her had happened as if it was happening right now—her walking toward me, her hair catching the orange glow of the court lights, her stride unhurried like she knew exactly what she was doing to me. " I wanted to ask how you met her in the first place." " Well, it was quite an adventure." I smiled. " I bumped into her in the rain. She had no umbrella and she was looking so confused. Then she explained to me that she was going to the mall to get stuff and she was lost. Eventually, I took her to a mall and when she was about to leave, I asked where she was going. And she said here. A coincidence I guess." I narrated.

MOM: Would you please come to my club tonight to meet with me? Oh. Seriously? She wanted to meet me at her club? Of course, I didn't need to ask what club she meant. There could only be one. I had to admit, I was insanely curious to know what she wanted to meet for. Did she want to talk to me about last night? Or maybe to introduce me to someone there? I really had no clue, but I didn't hesitate long before responding, telling her I'd be there.

I asked, just to make certain it was her. She yelped and dropped her foot, before gasping. “Oh. You’re here.” Then she glanced around me. “Wait, did you walk?” “Yeah.” I approached her, suddenly not so tired anymore. “Have you been waiting long? I’m not late, am I?” “No…no. You’re five minutes early, actually.” I swear I heard embarrassment in her voice before she cleared her throat. “I decided to meet you out here in case you didn’t know how to get to the running trail.”

He’s called George. “That’s $2.50 sir.” I paid him the exact amount. “Thank you, for paying the exact amount. We’ll be serving your coffee in a moment. Please have a seat.” George smiled. I nodded at him once. While I searched around for a perfect spot, I saw a familiar face. Ah! I remember this lovely face and her beautiful loose curly hair. She’s almost caused herself an injury at my building. Lucky her I was there to held her. I sat one table away from this lady. She seemed so focused on something.

In the distance, she made out a silhouette. "Mr. Dempsey," they called again. The voice was very familiar to him. He had heard her in his dreams for so long. There were days when he could see her from afar, and days when he only heard her. Today I saw her clearly. He ran to her and hugged her, enjoying that warmth that no one could match. The warmth of her Chelsea. She heard a slight beep and people talking in the distance, but she put her hand to her cheek. "I'm here now," she whispered, he had a feeling it meant something, but she didn't understand what it could be.

She smiled and left. That’s how we first met. A week later again she was in front of my eyes at an auction where she came with one of the friends who happened to be my acquaintances too. We hung out until the program went on, and when I wanted to give her a ride home, she rejected me again.

I asked, and from the confused look on her face, I knew she didn’t understand my question. “Are you ready to meet him?” I asked. Without needing to call his name, I knew she would immediately understand who I was talking about. The smile instantly dropped from her face for a second before returning, as if nothing had happened. “It’s inevitable now, Nikki. One of these days, I’m bound to bump into him or Theresa. It will happen, and I’m not scared of meeting him again. You should know that I have Theo by my side,” she said with a soft smile, which made me smile too.

How did she know all that information? “I know you will be shocked right now. You shouldn't be, my darling. Like I said we have the same interests and we can achieve it together. There's a lot you need to know, you're in the dark,” it continues. I stood up, frozen and more uncertain than ever. What the heck is this person talking about? How's our interest common? How? How on earth did she know our interest is the same?! I took a quick breath as my gaze remained glued on the screen of the phone and my hands trembled. “Let's meet at the Homecoming Restaurant at 11am and you will never regret it. See you there!”
