The little boy timidly handed her the paper. Helena looked at it—and was speechless. “This... this drawing is me?” The figure was a little disproportionate, but the features and the gaze were unmistakable. Mateo had drawn her. The boy lowered his head, nervous, afraid that she wouldn't like it. Helena smiled, delighted. “This is... simply amazing!” she exclaimed with genuine enthusiasm. “Can I take a picture to use as my phone's wallpaper?” Mateo pressed his lips together and, blushing, pushed the drawing into her hands.

“What are you drawing?” He didn’t answer. Instead, he simply turned the paper toward me. My breath hitched looking at the drawing. It was simple, childlike but what surprised me was what he had drawn. A woman. A little girl beside her. And a small boy holding the woman’s hand. My eyes froze on it. I recognized her instantly. Even if the picture was done in a childlike fashion and the lines were a bit messy, it was still an impressive feat for a child in elementary school. Levian laughed heartily and commented, "Not bad! This is quite good. You have captured Melody's essence."

Those much be easier than a whole animal?” Kane said.

Then, one by one, she pointed at the figures on the paper Solene held on top. “This is Grandma, this is you, this is Mommy, and this is Uncle Atlas!” She said, proud of herself. Solène raised a brow. “That’s good. You almost got our faces right.” She laughed.
