My anger started building up, a hot pressure in my chest. I wanted to rip him off that horse, but I managed to hold it in. I needed to stay professional. I opened my mouth to tell him again to leave, but I never got the chance.
Suddenly, I heard a sharp, swooshing sound.
The messenger’s eyes widened, his hands flying to his throat as he let out a choked gasp. A second later, he tumbled sideways off his horse and dropped dead in the dirt. An arrow was buried deep in his neck.
