There was only one word in the message. ‘Buy what you want.’ ‘How does he know where I am? Is he nearby?’ Estelle wondered as she quickly ran to the door and looked around. However, there were so many people coming and going on the street. Since she had never seen Mr. Mysterious’ face, she didn’t know which one was him at all. ‘Don’t look for me. I’ll let you know who I am at the right time.’ Mr. Mysterious had texted her again.

How far I would continue before admitting there was nowhere else to look. The message itself suddenly mattered less than the person who had sent it. Not because they knew who I was. Because they knew how I thought. Draven finally shifted his attention from the screen to me. “You’ve exhausted it.” I nodded my head once. “I have.” He looked back toward the empty inbox. “You think they’ll contact you again?” “I don’t know.” That answer bothered me more than I cared to admit. Ghost wasn’t accustomed to unknowns. Unknown people eventually became known. Unknown systems eventually revealed weaknesses. Unknown messages eventually led somewhere. This one… Simply stopped.

She turned around and walked back to the nightstand, picked up the phone, and lit up the screen. It was a spam message. But the little penguin icon at the top of the screen caught her attention. She had muted all group chats, including the “Market Gods” group, so if the notification showed, it could only mean one thing. A private message. Adora froze for a second, and a sudden realization struck her like lightning. The corners of Adora’s lips lifted into a knowing smile as she opened her messenger. Just as she suspected, it was White-Coat Deity messaging her.

Moses simply shrugged. “Leave it, then,” he said as he reached for his phone. “I’ll hire an expert to do it.” Just as he unlocked his phone, a notification popped up. Moses frowned. It was an email. The subject line read: “Every piece of information you need is here.” Moses narrowed his eyes. He scrolled down, reading the sender’s email address. It was completely untraceable. His suspicion grew. “Someone sent me a secret message,” he muttered.

Was about to reply, when another text popped up. Unknown number 💬: Need me to remind your little ex why he never should’ve messed with my ice-tongued princess?

It was a text message from an unknown number. UNKNOWN NUMBER: Get the door. We need to talk. — Christian Gallo. I stared wide-eyed at the message, my whole world pausing. Jesus Christ, I could pass out right now.
