Lurking in the Dark - Book 2

Lurking in the Dark - Book 2

It had a long tail with long hangings and a little goatee under its chin. In fact, like all other proles, a Iuba was a beautiful being, with an innate elegance and grace, but when you looked into the piercing yellow eyes of these beasts, you could see their true nature. They were monsters, created to plant nightmares in people's heads and this sight would cause Maddox again one or two sleepless nights, because before someone had put a bullet in this Iuba, he had ripped the blond woman's throat out .

Carmen's Diary

Carmen's Diary

And that horrible feeling that made her think that they were kidnapped so her uncle could take Cody, it almost gave her a heart attack! But seeing the old couple waiting for them to wake up was a shock… What were they going to do? Kill them and then perhaps hide their bodies in the back of their truck? That was probably the food they sold there, human meat, cooked human meat! Carmen scowled, her eyebrows almost meeting in the middle. What kind of sane person would think like that?! Except her of course, her imagination was the wildest… She mentally rolled her eyes and stared up at the troubled look on Adrian’s face. Her eyebrows raised, seeing that he was already staring. He seemed to have z

She sighed as she looked at me. "What's the good news?" I asked. "The good news is this book didn't go missing on my watch. I just somehow kept missing that it was supposed to be there." She explained. "Apparently it was one stolen a few years ago when there was a breach in the pack, this was something that happened before Jaxon came in to take over Dark Moon." "That's great that it wasn't on you then." I responded. "But what's the bad news?" "The book title is The Moon Goddess' Unique Creations." She was hesitant to keep going but she did anyway. "This is the book I needed to go through to determine what exactly is going on with you. It's the only copy of it and someone took off with it yea

Unbreakable bonds

Unbreakable bonds

I made my way to my room to change and then to Killian's office. I stood to the side where Killian kept his books. I looked through all the titles. I wondered how we had such different tastes in books. Someone, I thought it be my brother but yet he felt like a stranger. There was a book with a torn cover that looked old. I tugged it off the shelf and opened it to the bookmarked page. This was a Gideon witch grimwar. Why did Killian have this? The page that was bookmarked was written in Latin or Greek, I couldn't tell I had to get this to Ellen. I put the book in the back of my jeans and pulled my shirt over it. I felt dirty stealing this from Killian but I also felt like he was hiding someth

Seducing the Enemy.

Seducing the Enemy.

She bent down to pick it up. "The Art of Pain" she read on the book cover. "Written by Lirio Dorado." She looked up at the person who had thrown the book. It was a young man of the same height, thin, with white skin. He was dressed in a casual black coat, and a black woolen hat covered his head. She looked at him coldly, adjusting her scarf with her right hand while holding her umbrella with her left. She dared to say, "Sotomayor Jina, you will never change..."

it is really near as much as I love those chapters as much as my heart is breaking for them ... she feels him slipping, and he is desperate to take everything and have her imprinted in him... Gush, so emotional chapters and beautiful written...
Osheen Yazdi
This isn’t just your usual dark romance—it’s an intense emotional rollercoaster romance. The characters seems achingly real. The slow-burn tension mixed with forbidden attraction makes every chapter feel electric. I love how the story explores the blurred lines between desire and control.

The Lycan King and the Feral Twin

The Lycan King and the Feral Twin

He knew that the stories of the Silver Moon Tavern & Inn would forever remain a part of him, a reminder that even in the midst of darkness, there existed a beauty that transcended time. And so, the abandoned building continued to stand, a silent witness to the passage of years, its corridors echoing with the laughter and tears of the past, and the memory of a curious werewolf who had ventured into its depths on a moonlit night. Wow, was this supposed to be a horror story? I looked at the cover of the book and saw it was a collection of short horror stories. I did not find this story so scary to be honest. I found it more funny than anything else. Maybe because my life was always just me and

A Mysterious She-wolf

A Mysterious She-wolf

You might find my characters irritating at some point of time but there is the reason for such behaviour which will be revealed over the period of time. To tell the truth, I am extremely addicted to werewolf stories. That's why I decided to give a try on writing a book on werewolves. I don't know whether werewolves are real or myth but if it is actually true, I would trade anything in my power to become one without any second thought. Hope you understood my craze for them. And I warn you that English is not my first language and there might be few mistakes/errors in my book. I apologies for them in advance and I highly welcome your reviews of my book. Feel free to share your thoughts.

Nephilim: Supernatural Bad Boys IV

“We need to find whoever is doing this before it’s too late. All things need balance, and when the balance is interrupted, catastrophe follows. Do you understand what I’m saying?” We all stand there and gaze at the book feeling the severity of what is going to come about. Kell’s hand tightens around mine reassuringly and points to the book. “Does this book tell you anything else?” Creighton turns the book over and pushes it closer. The book looks seriously old. The sheets are frayed and wrinkled, but what catches my eyes is the foreign writing on the pages. I move closer and hover my hand over the words. Creighton must see my fascination because he leans closer and whispers. “It’s in ancient

The Ascension

The Ascension

The book was that vile. Various thoughts ran in his mind and he could already connect it to the real cause of the ghost haunting. But just then, a loud sound of something breaking reverberated. From within the room, which Leyte speculated to be the bathroom, a scream suddenly broke out. It naturally made Ley dashed towards it. The book was still in his hands. After a few steps, he saw a man shrouded with a black aura fainting on the cold wet floor. This guy should be the one named Nathan Garcia, a horror writer, and the current owner of the cursed book.

Quite the unique story in this website. I have read until chapter 50, it's a nice fantasy that is also like just a slice of life, at times heavy, at times just like a breath of fresh air. Only problem is the expensive chapters. Good work though.

Frequently Asked Questions

'Mexican Gothic' stands out because it transplants the classic Gothic tradition into a vividly Mexican setting, blending colonial history with supernatural horror. The decaying mansion, High Place, isn’t just eerie—it’s steeped in the legacy of eugenics and silver mining, reflecting real-world atrocities. The protagonist, Noemí, isn’t a typical damsel; she’s a sharp, glamorous socialite whose resilience defies the genre’s passive heroines. The horror here isn’t just ghosts—it’s a fungal nightmare, a biological grotesquerie that’s both original and deeply unsettling.

Silvia Moreno-Garcia’s prose drips with atmosphere, but what really sets it apart is how it critiques power. The villains aren’t just aristocrats; they’re white supremacists clinging to a rotting empire. The book’s focus on race, class, and gender adds layers most Gothic novels ignore. It’s lush, creepy, and politically sharp—a fresh take on a centuries-old genre.
