He had reached the bed already but he waited. “The stuff I read about you, your friends dying like that… is it true?” Larissa watched Miguel’s face closely. It was hard to tell what he was thinking but he finally lowered her onto the bed. She sat up and he sat down opposite her, in the space she created. Miguel only corrected her. “My family.” Larissa looked down at her hands and back at him. “Miguel…” He shut her up with a kiss. He stole her breath from her.

"It reminds me that people were willing to risk everything for strangers even when it seemed like the world was against us." Liam reclined in his chair and gazed reflectively. How would we react if someone else required that kind of assistance? Were we as courageous as they were? Elena had a determined glitter in her eyes. Then Miguel cursed and reached for the laptop. He slammed it shut so hard the whole thing flew off the desk and crashed to the floor.

She grinned widely just as Selena and Miguel came into view. “The gang's back together!” Selena cheered and gave Serenity yet another tight hug followed by Miguel. “Lord help us all.” Miguel sighed dramatically, but the look quickly turned into a friendly smile as he reached a hand out to Xander, “Hi, I’m Miguel Ramirez. This crazy sister’s husband.” He threw a thumb over his shoulder at his wife who poked him in the side. “Awesome sisters, Miguel. Get it right!” Serenity scoffed. “No, no, ‘crazy sisters’ is right.” Miguel shook his head nonchalantly. “So Xander, how do you know Serenity?” He smiled, clearly unaware of the history between them.
