She snatches the microphone off the ground, taps it once, then shouts into it, her voice slicing through the commotion like a knife.
“Will you assholes shut off your damn cameras!”
Some people actually pause, lowering their phones, but the murmurs don’t stop. Millie glares at the crowd, her chest rising and falling as she tries to steady herself.
“That’s right. You’re all fucked-up creatures,” she spits into the mic. “You don’t care who you hurt as long as you’ve got your goddamn entertainment for the night, huh?”
