The scent of rich perfume floated before her like a warning. Then I saw her. The Luna. Or rather, the one who had been chosen to become Luna. Mirah. Miranda woke up the following morning feeling tired but she was in a good mood. She turned to face the other side but Ryder was not in bed with her, the events of the previous night came running into her mind and she smiled at the thought of it. She walked to the mirror to check herself out, and moved the hair that was falling on her face, the mark on her neck was still there and that is when it dawned on her; she was now a Luna and there was no turning back.

She has silver eyes and a loud voice and her father's stubborn jaw and a laugh that Mara says can be heard from across the pack grounds, which Mara says with enormous satisfaction. She has never been afraid of anything that I can tell. She arrived in the world furious and curious and has maintained both qualities consistently. She has two packs who know her name. The forest that borders her home glows silver at night, and the Moon Goddess's light is steady above it.

Carter followed the movements with widened eyes. “What did you take me for, Old man? A little girl with no power? For your kind information, I am Viviana Miracle, The Luna of this pack. I rule. You obey. That’s the script.” I roared. My eyes changed color from green to blue. Miracle was ready to take over. “Not yet, Miracle.” I stopped her. She obliged.

She would have fetched a high price for our Uncle. “It saddens me to think what has happened to her parents.” Lugh says to Orla who nods her head at him. “I don’t understand why I’m being spellbound. I don’t know magic, I wouldn’t hurt anyone.” I still didn’t get it. I’m not special. I’m not even strong enough to be a Luna. Brett must have felt my emotions through the bond as he kissed me gently on the lips and whispered. “You are special to me.”

“I simply expected more… concern. Considering she is your Luna.” Miranda crouched beside the bed again, studying Aria’s face as if she were reading a story only she could see. My mother stood on the other side, watching her with open suspicion. The air between them was already heavy. Miranda traced one finger slowly above Aria’s wrist but didn’t touch her skin. Then she spoke. Softly. “Strange.” I frowned. “What is?” She tilted her head slightly. “For someone who was never meant to sit on a throne… she seems to have captured the heart of the throne itself.”
