Across town, in a dimly lit office, Miranda Reed stared at her phone screen—the headline glaring back at her. Her assistant hesitated nearby. “Should we respond, ma’am?” Miranda’s lips twisted. “No. Not yet.” She turned to her desk, where a sealed envelope lay waiting. Inside it were photographs—private ones. Unreleased ones. On the back of the top photo, a single name was written in ink: Maya Collins. Miranda’s smile was sharp and cold. “Let them plan their wedding. By the time that date arrives… the world will see exactly who she really is.”
