Nakasunod rito ang takot na batang lalaki. Laking gulat ni Orelia sa biglaang kilos ng mga bata kaya hindi niya napigilan ang agarang paghawak ni Juancho sa mga ito. Handa na siyang itulak ang lalaki at bawiin ang bata nang nakita niya ang mga mata ni Juancho na nakatitig sa kambal, ang malamig at walang emosyon nitong mga mata ay napalitan ng lambot. Ito ay mga matang matagal niya ng hindi nakikita, ang mga matang minsan ng nagpapabilis sa tibok ng kanyang puso.
