We didn't let the darkness win. END OF VOLUME ONE

Beyond it, darkness stretched into a cavern so wide and deep that no end was visible. Two massive statues flanked the entrance—figures of wolves with skeletal faces, their eyes hollow yet menacing. Toran hissed softly. "This is a tomb." Selene shook her head. "No. A throne." Luna stepped forward, her voice echoing. "Morrakai! I’m here!" The darkness answered. Torches along the walls ignited in sequence, revealing a grand hall within—walls of black stone veined with crimson light, a floor of polished bone. At the hall's end sat a throne of jagged stone, and on it, draped in silk and shadow, sat Morrakai.

I keep my eyes glued to the monitor to check the leaderboard updates: Aldair (red) Beckett (blue) King (orange) Aldair (green) Sharpe (purple) Vance (cyan) Blake (silver) Harrington (gold) Sinclair (violet-gray) Torrence (magenta) Carver (lime) Dalton (black) Winslow (navy) Carstairs (teal) Ellery (maroon) Grayson (olive) Hawthorne (peach) Danvers (yellow-black)

She sitted next to Sir Flinn and chew the gum in her mouth. “ What now?” She spoke, breaking the silence and the stares. “ I just can't get it why we need to change the name of our-” “Cause it's boring.” Tim cutted off Sir Flinn who looked hurt. “No. no, I mean Monochromatic means boring. I didn't mean to say it was boring by the word itself, but it is really boring. It means boring. Like literally.” Tim explained himself and Sir Flinn is listening attentively.

Something I couldn’t quite name. “Alright,” Smith’s voice broke through my thoughts, gentle but firm. “Let’s not lose focus.” I blinked quickly, forcing myself back into the room. “Sorry,” I muttered, adjusting my posture. “Don’t be,” he said with a small smile. “It happens. Especially here.” Especially here. I didn’t ask what he meant by that. Instead, I fixed my eyes on the piano, on the keys, on anything that wasn’t the door Drake had just walked through.

My heart sinks as I come to the realisation that this is the master bedroom of Saint. As I step into the luxurious black and white bathroom, I’m instantly surrounded by a sense of timeless elegance and sophistication. The monochrome decor seems to transport me to a bygone era where attention to detail was paramount and luxury defined the essence of everyday living. The bright, gleaming white marble floors blend seamlessly with the rich, dark walls to create an atmosphere of refined elegance, while the carefully placed lighting fixtures gently illuminate each corner of the room.

“No. I will not yield to your power, I have waited years for this, you have controlled us for too long.” “Well if you won’t go to your brothers, I will just have to bring them to you.” Black glares at Aidan then glances in my direction before taking a step in my direction. Abruptly there is a loud bang and four monsters appear in front of Aidan. They stare at Black with confusion and anger. They all seem to coloured differently, one orange, one yellow, one red and one green. The green one takes a step towards Black and says with a hush voice
