The Mates of Monsters

The Mates of Monsters

I tighten my grip on David and ask, "Your proclamation—what's the big picture? Where do you see this going? I'm curious, Alpha Nicodra. Do you have any specific ideas regarding how exactly you're going to resurrect our culture?" He lifts his glass to me and says, "I'm happy to hear your interest. My ideas are truly rooted in our conformity to a way of life that was simply not built on the beings we are. Frankly, Brigette, we are not human. In all honesty, we're monsters—at least to them, at least in our physiology." "Monsters," I repeat, tasting the word on my tongue.

This is a very good book and can be part of my Recommended List. And for readers like me who like to read reviews first before deciding if they will read the book, this is NOT your TYPICAL werewolf story if you’re like me who loves reading them. BUT it’s very worthy tackling the true concept of MATE
Gabbalaba
What a delight! Well-written, this story is an expression of the authors maturity in writing and in story telling. Internal dialogue and conflict of our main is the whole story, the tone slightly heavy. Great feminist lead, who has her cake and eats it too! Also the Alpha is pretty great too.

The Hunt for Shawna and Trixie

The Hunt for Shawna and Trixie

Trixie looked at Dradon as he took a step back. “Oh yes, I am real. I’m not just a story told in the bible as one of the creators first creations or a folklore to you half breeds.” The monster said as he stepped out of the darkness. He was almost the size of Dradon’s dragon form, he looked like a dragon too, but had two long horns that curled backwards, his teeth were sharp, and long like a human arm. “Ooohhh, shit we about to die ain’t it?” Trixie whispered to Dradon, as she looked at the monster that wanted her. “Yea, we might be.” Dradon whispered as they both took steps back.

Half-Monster

Half-Monster

Mostly, lycanthropy is hereditary, but some horrible attacks have been known to bring it on. My mother barely survived when she was raped. Coming out of the hospital with the slashes all over her face and arms, her mother barely recognized her. When she didn’t turn on the first full moon, doctors were ecstatic. When she found out she was pregnant, they began to fear the worst again. I only got half the symptoms myself, and people say my dad was a pack leader. "Here you go, sugar," Sheila whispers, appearing from nowhere. Her perfume cuts my nostrils like a knife, and so does her human meaty smell.

I came here to hide from Marcus and start over. Instead I walked into a house with three wolves who already decided I belonged to them.

The monster's fated prey

The monster's fated prey

"The bond has rotted your minds!" Aziel caught the man’s wrist, his grip so fierce the bones crunched. He leaned in, his eyes hard as flint. "We aren't monsters, Thorne. We’re the evolution you were too afraid to achieve." He twisted, and the traitor slumped, his life leaking into the dirt. "Corrupted?" Aziel roared to the remaining combatants, his voice resonating with a terrifying, amplified authority. "The bond has made us unstoppable! Lior, show them! What does the prophecy show you now?"

Reincarnation of my competitive spirit

Reincarnation of my competitive spirit

If this is the same game, then it's really amazing to see the monster inside the dungeon come out of it. “Should I go there?” He rubbed his chin and looked at his reflection in the water. “Mostly not…” The monsters inside the dungeon were low level from 30 to 50. But… it's different now. Kobold numbers can be increased by breeding. So the monsters inside the dungeon were above fifty. He wouldn't be able to beat her with his condition. It is possible if he finished his first evolution. This is it! He had decided that he would raise his level first by conquering the other six dungeons where the undead lived, no, it's five now because he had already conquered the first.

My Beastly Bestie

My Beastly Bestie

I did everything to be a good friend, only to be treated as my so-called best friend’s scapegoat. When her husband found cigarette ash in their house, she claimed I was the one smoking. When she snuck off for a private rendezvous with her lover, she told him she was celebrating my birthday. And when she got pregnant, she pinned the blame on me again, declaring I was consumed with jealousy—that I had spiked her drink and hired someone to violate her. Enraged, her husband marched to my doorstep wielding a blade and hacked me to death. When I opened my eyes again, I had returned to the exact day she had asked me to cover for her affair.

When Monsters Mate

When Monsters Mate

“Bonds complicate things when time stretches endlessly. Most of us form companionships. We feed, we part. We keep emotions out of it.” Leonidas’s brow lifted slightly. “And feeding? Is it always from humans?” I laughed. “You ask that like I’m going to confess something terrible.” “Well?” “No, not always. There are blood banks. Synth options. Rituals. Feeding doesn’t always mean fangs to the neck. We’ve evolved, despite what the stories say.” “But you’ve fed from humans before,” he said. Not a question. An observation. I met his gaze. “Yes.”

My Monster

"I feel weird, though. Almost like my senses are amplified, and I just want to creep into your skin and hide there forever." Kaziel chuckles. "Yeah. Well, that's a thing. That's why most pregnant werewolves do what we call 'nesting'." My eyes go wide. "So, pregnancy makes me clingy and needy? Oh dear, what if I become a bother? Also, what's this 'nesting' about?" He shrugs lightly. "The clingier, the better. As for nesting, it's more like creating a cocoon just so you can be surrounded by my scent."

Okay so I won't lie, I was tempted to stop reading at one point. I felt it was going slower than I like, and I didn't understand why this super strong tribrid was the way he was. BOY WAS I IN FOR IT. I'm glad I didn't stop reading. That twist was.. WOW. Was NOT expecting it. I enjoyed this story!
Katrina Hofstadter
I loved this book and am looking forward to reading more from this author and the next book of this saga. The author doesn't leave an question unanswered or unnecessarily drag the story out. The ability to keep the continuity of the story from beginning to end, was spot on. A great read!

Healing with the monster

Healing with the monster

"Victor was a monster, but he was a human monster. He wanted money, power, and his father’s approval. But these 'Architects of the Void'... their code is different. It’s cold. It doesn't have a signature. It doesn't have an ego." Julian sat on the edge of the desk, his presence grounding me. "That’s because they aren't a family, Elara. They’re a conglomerate. The logs show that Victor was just their 'Biological Lead.' Now that he’s in a Swiss cell, they’ve moved on to the next phase: Sequence 9."
