I stared out my window as we winded up a paved road around the Rocky Mountains. The sky seemed brighter; the sun somehow larger here. The higher we climbed; the more patches of white snow began appearing. It clashed with the beautiful green of the surrounded grass and trees. Twice we stopped to take in the sight of elk along our drive.

The big eye in the sky was starting to fall asleep, getting real comfortable behind the massive Montana mountains. Rich hues of gold, orange and crimson were starting to bleed into one another and spread like wildfire across the cotton candy-colored October sky. Casting dark ombre shadows over the top of the lush green forest, that was covered in miles of massive red cedar trees awaiting to be tucked in by the protective blanket of the night. Neither option is acceptable. Azure went to the city to get lost in a sea of people and it hadn’t kept her safe. So, instead, I’m going to send my brother and sister into the middle of nowhere.
