Torture II Third Person’s POV The morning sun is blisteringly hot above the clouds, but it could not warm down the freezing coldness of the north king mountain. The sounds of horse hooves trampling down the thick carpet of snow rang incessantly in the surroundings, and the completely white and vast space of the mountain passed swiftly in their eyes as Samel’s group approached the twin valleys. And different from the whiteness of everything around the north king mountain, the entrance of the twin valleys and its entire territory is filled with lush green leaves as if spring is just around the corner.

The flickering glow of the fireplace cast shadows across the page, the soft crackle of burning wood filling the quiet space around me. Outside, the snow fell harder. Thick flakes swirled past the window, disappearing into the endless white expanse of the Rocky Mountains. The storm had been creeping in slowly and steadily since last night until the distant peaks vanished beneath a heavy veil. The world beyond my cabin blurred into a wintry void.

3rd Person The mountain village of Alta Montaña sat so deep in the rainforest that unless one was standing at its center, they might never realize it was there. It was well known throughout the kingdom for its beauty and artisan wool goods, but it wasn’t the sort of place many Southern Islanders went unless they were trading or hoping to soak up some time in nature.

He was entrusting his brother's life to the same girl who had once saved his own, yet today, there was a fear of losing him again to her. Their journey unfolded amidst the rugged Appalachian mountains, their path winding through steep valleys. "It's breathtaking, Wyatt," she breathed softly, her words meant for him alone. "Only because you're here with me," he replied, brushing a gentle kiss against her cheek. She rose slowly from her seat, unfastening her helmet with deliberate care. “That’s exactly what your grandmother used to say at your age.” I wandered farther between the narrow shelves mostly to escape the public humiliation, while Harmony disappeared toward the romance section making loud, dramatic noises about enemies-to-lovers tropes. The bookstore glowed softly beneath the low hanging lights while the snow drifted in thick waves outside the front windows facing Main Street. I paused near the folklore section automatically, my fingers tracing the bindings. Appalachian legends, mountain myths, and local history books lined the dark wood. One specific title caught my eye immediately: The Founding Families of Black Hollow.

Caroline  Four years had passed since that storm-lashed night when the fate of the pack hung by a single thread. Today the mountain no longer whispered of fear, but of life. Spring had arrived early on the northern slopes; snow lingered only on the highest peaks, glittering white, while below the deep green of the pine forests mingled with the wildflowers’ thousand colors. “I’m going to catch you, you little wild thing!” I laughed as I ran across the gently sloping clearing behind the house.

They all would. After thirty minutes of walking, I felt the shift in air. We had now entered Blood Moon territory. Their pack was nothing like mine. Mountain Forest was situated in a small town, we were a small pack kept well hidden and out of sight, away from those that would venture too far. Not that it didn’t happen once in a blue moon, but when it did, we had to ‘deal’ with it. Here, their pack was well and truly out in the open for all to see. Large skyscrapers sat further away with what looked like hundreds of different shops surrounding them.

Who in their right mind would want a mate that as far as they knew, didn’t have a wolf. Once at the top of the stairs, I slung my bag over my shoulder and made my way out of the house. I felt a chill run up and down my spine as the brisk morning air hit me. Living in the mountains of Colorado, it didn’t matter that it was May, we still experienced snow this late in the year. Wrapping my arms around myself, I headed out of the barely standing house and made my way to the packhouse.

He found Mya next to him, packing her backpack next, and Gloria lying quietly on the ground. “You’re up. Let’s go,” said Mya. Adrian nodded and stood up. He checked on Gloria before he put her on his back once again and continued to walk ahead. Mya put out the campfire and followed him. They were now very close to the mountain. The mountain in the rainforest was not very tall, just slightly taller than the trees. However, the mountain had a unique form, and not a single blade of grass was growing on it. The mountain stood there, barren.
