Mr Billionaire's Regret: Chasing His Irresistible Wife Novels & Stories

It might not seem like it now, but prevention has always been better than cure. Walking through the doors of Lachlan’s mansion, reveling in the magnificence of it, and having the servants attend to me without having to call anyone was something that always thrilled me, regardless of how constant that was. Maybe I’d get used to it when I finally become his wife. I smiled at the thought and blushed so hard. I could feel my cheeks hurting. Oh, I would do all in my power to make sure that happens, and keep it that way.

She had been a good girl and I had never regretted taking her in. "Alright Emma dear, thank you so much." I muttered softly and took a seat at the dinning. I had no appetite, I wasn't in the mood to put anything into my stomach. Ethan didn't come back home last night and he wouldn't come this morning. Dull ache settled in my chest. I needed my husband back. This girl had got to release my husband to me else I lose my mind soon. "Ma'am please, try to eat something." Emma jolted me back from my several thoughts.

She would have been better off hiding. Now, I will stop at nothing to get my man back. Letting her have the last laugh wasn't part of the deal, not when I had already marked Dashiell as mine. Letting go of my position next to him, is almost close to impossible. Standing next to him had been my dream ever since I was blacklisted from modelling. I had always coveted a place next to him, to be known as the wife of the richest man in the country. Letting go wasn't an option.

My mouth wouldn’t move and my trembling legs didn’t ta any step. “Pathetic.” Margaret spat. “It’s a shame, really. Your family had such a promising future. It’s just too bad they died and left their empire in the hands of the likes of you.” Her gaze swept over me as a sneer appeared on her face. “Life is never kind to those who have nothing to offer.” I gulped. The words landed exactly where she intended then to. As a punch in my heart. My throat tightened and tears gathered in my eyes but I refused to let it fall.

That silver ultrasound charm nestled against the skin of a woman who looked like my wife but spoke like an executioner. "Sir, you can't go in there!" my assistant, Marcus, stammered, tripping over his own feet to keep up with me. "Get out," I snarled, my voice cracking. "Get everyone out! Clear the floor!" I slammed the mahogany doors of my private office. This was my sanctuary. This was where I had built a billion-dollar legend. I threw my $1,200 blazer onto the floor, the floor where Shay used to sit for hours, cross-legged, sorting through the legal filings I was too bored to read.

"Oh, he'll fall for it. And his wife, Mrs. Caroline, will make it easier for him. She's so greedy, she'll push him to invest without doing his due diligence." Phila chuckled, a low, husky sound. "You're peacefully evil, Elena. I love it." I smiled, feeling a sense of satisfaction. "The story will come to an end, Phila. Maybe happy, maybe sad. But one thing's for sure - I'll make everyone who's haunted me and my family pay." Phila nodded, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "I'll book the appointment and let you know how it goes. You'll be waiting for my feedback tonight?"

I grit out. The old lady merely chuckles again. “Oh, do not worry. He is still alive—if that is what you are asking. You do not know how much I’ve enjoyed watching each of their bodies struggle to survive. This is my own therapy from all the madness in the Lupin home. It gets crazier on the outside everyday. Just then, a voice rang out in the room as both I and Doctor Tim tilted our heads forward. "Breaking News, our city's sweetheart, the handsome and most successful Billionaire and heir of the Norman's has ultimately gone raging to tear down a hospital, threatening to sack all its employees because of a female patient we don't know yet. He had also gone ahead to buy the hospital in a space of thirty two seconds to show how deadly serious he was. Now a question leaves us hanging, who is the mysterious female patient that could ignite that flame in him? Could Max Norman be having extramarital affairs outside of his secret marriage with his wife? We hope our Max is still as faithful as we know "

“Didn't you hear the news? Don't you know who your ex-wife is” Greg was lost for a moment. “Who is my ex-wife?”. “I promise you that your life will end right in front of you if you do anything stupid”. Mr. Chase spitted out with rimmed eyes. It seems Greg was clueless. Greg's nose flared, confused. “What are you saying, sir. Megan is a nobody”. “Shut up boy! You are so clueless and that may kill you. I can't help you, he said mercilessly. I can't go above my powers”.

"Well, let the speculation begin. No one will guess this, though. My beautiful wife to be and the mother of my child." The newspapers in town ran rampant with stories about the pair. As was the norm when they went out in public. He was the son of a billionaire who ran a multinational company. Maverick was a millionaire in his own right. Scarlett was the unknown in everything. Maverick walked onto the office floor that held his office and his fathers, who was in his doorway waiting. That was not all that surprising for Maverick to see.
