Mr Midnight: Beware The Monsters Novels & Stories

Bone cracked. James screamed through wolf throat. Midnight didn’t stop. He slammed James into the ground, pinned him with paw and weight, and tore into the throat with one clean, brutal, decisive motion. Blood sprayed. The crowd inhaled as one. James’ body twitched, then stilled. Midnight held the corpse a moment, not for cruelty, but for claiming. Then he lifted his head and howled. Long. Low. Ancient. A sound that belonged to the mountains and the moon and lineage older than the council itself.

Shelves stacked high with food and drinks surrounded her, untouched and abundant but outside… Monsters. Their figures roamed restlessly beyond the glass doors, their growls deep, guttural, and chilling. Even through the recording, the sound was so loud and unsettling that Ivy instinctively lowered the volume, not wanting her children to hear. Her fingers tightened slightly around the phone. Immediately, she began to type. Don’t go home yet, Ivy wrote quickly. The outside is filled with monsters. The supermarket still appears safe for now. Stay there as long as you can. If you must leave, try at night when most of them might be less active or resting.

WINTER'S POV I made it to my room and locked the door behind me. My bags were already inside even though Dante said they'd bring them up after dinner. Of course they were. These men didn't ask permission for anything. I pulled out my phone with shaking hands. Fifteen messages from Marcus. I didn't read them. I never did anymore but I saw the last one and my blood turned to ice. I know you're in the Moretti mansion. Pretty place. Big gates. Three stepbrothers. Does Mommy know you're fucking her new stepsons yet? Or are you waiting for them to force you like you always wanted?

I waited for a little while before finally hearing a voice. “My lady,” a husky voice vibrated through my phone. “I have a job for you and it has to be done at midnight,” I said with an evil smile plastered on my face. “I’m sorry but I can’t. The full moon starts at midnight and it would be too dangerous for me with a monster on the loose,” “I’ll reward you handsomely, so you don’t have to worry,” I rolled my eyes, starting to get irritated. “This isn’t about money,”

Miranda seemed thrilled as she heard this, and I couldn't help but roll my eyes. “Looks like you'll have to transfer to a room downstairs just like us,” Arnold said, and I could hear the sarcasm in his voice as he said this. I didn't mind though. Upstairs or downstairs, as long as I had a room to myself, I couldn't be bothered with anything else. Besides, didn't it only mean I didn't need to deal with a certain monster sneaking into my room to ravage me? What could be more thrilling? By the time dinner ended, the female attendant had already helped me move my things to the room downstairs, and I thanked her politely.

Ancient magic pulsed faintly underfoot, woven into the stone circle that marked the ceremonial space. I wore black. A deep midnight gown, sleeveless and floor-length, with a slit high up my thigh and silver embroidery curling like smoke along the hem. My dark hair was pulled back, braided and pinned with thin silver chains, tiny crystal fangs glinting at the ends like secrets. They had said to dress like a bride. But I didn’t feel like one. I felt like bait. Guests had arrived in full force. Elders from both sides. Powerful wolves cloaked in muted leathers and blood red sashes. Vampires in opulent coats and ivory gloves, the scent of cold moonlight trailing them like perfume. And of course;

I looked around, scanning the hall, candles lined across the walls, flickering as though they were burning stars, their wax dripping down the walls, giving the illusion of blood dripping. And from the rafters, huge crimson banners hung high, heavy and wet with a strong scent of disgust which made my stomach churn. And as the drums thudded with an intensity that made my heart skip a beat, aroused wolves howled in rhythm, sounding like war cries being sung from the devil's lair itself. And with anticipation of the ritual, the air crackled. This was the Moon Fang Midnight Rite. And I? I was the center of attraction tonight, the one to perform and excite the wolves.

//Heaven Black// I was walking peacefully in the hallway when I saw a familiar figurine walking towards me. Oh no, Am I seeing things? The girl smirk at me. A devilish smirk. "Nope. You are not hallucinating bitch." Midnight said with her thick bitchy accent. I look at her while my mouth is hanging open. Midnight pout before using her long bloody nails to close my open mouth. "No, no, no don't give me that shock look Darling." Who wouldn't be shock to see her here?

“And in case you haven’t heard yet, wolves give back whatever they receive. That’s why to show my appreciation for this gift, here is the next tip. In five seconds, you will witness this entire hall be filled with red… and with screams. I honestly didn’t want to do this yet, but you gave me no choice. So, at the count of five, I want you to prepare yourself, Ma. Five, four…” She was wheezing when she stepped back. “Remember, whatever happens is on you now, Ma,” I added before I went back to counting and signaled the staff nearby. “Three, two, One!” “Everybody, run away now! The monsters are preparing something! They deceived us! They will attack us tonight! Hide and save yourselves, please!”

“What’s up with this little gremlin you’ve brought around to meet the family. Did she like, capture you when you were unable to answer her riddles three?” “He’s a riddle for you, you skinny rat,” Midnight snarls, glaring hard at me, her eyes going dark as pits and shadows starting to leak from her as she grips her fork, a bite of cake trembling at its edge. “Who’s a powerful shadow sorceress who you should try not to piss off? You get one guess.” “Why are you so weird?” I bite out, staring at her with wide eyes. Midnight gasps, appalled, and then a shadow snaps out from her, smacking me lightly on the nose, like being flicked with a fingertip. I yelp and sit back hard in my chair, a snarl al
