At this moment, Azura saw Laura's eye color change to a burgundy color for a moment and then back to the usual brown. She glanced back at Azura, showing a dangerous smile with a provocative look on her face, revealing bright white fangs.

She dropped her head immediately, entirely unwilling to look up into his dangerous eyes, and silently prayed that he would just leave her alone. Alexander noticed her lovely eyes gazing frantically down at the floor, completely avoiding his own. He was instantly enraged. He desperately wanted to see her eyes—her beautiful, expressive green eyes that perfectly revealed exactly how terrified she was of him. He fiercely wanted to see those fearful eyes looking up at him.

The girl then turns to see Konomi staring at her with her chocolate eyes turning burgundy.

MERRIN’S POV The whiskey burned down my throat. Good. Pain was cleaner than memory. Moonfall Palace pulsed with life, music crashing, lights flashing, laughter spilling everywhere, but I barely registered it. I came here to drown, not to listen. They call me the Ruthless One-Eye Alpha. They whisper it like a curse. Maybe it is. The girl who took my eye also took everything human left in me. Violet. Even her name still scraped down my spine.

Marcus couldn't care less about the fresh injuries he got from the shards. He shifted to his knees and began crawling toward me slowly. Two long trails of blood extended from behind him. He thought he could cancel out the damage he had inflicted on me by getting hurt himself. Soon, Marcus hugged me once again, his senses completely overwhelmed by panic and anxiety. He buried his face into the crook of my shoulder as he began whimpering sadly.

Axel said in a rather aggressive tone. I was instantly annoyed but something in me told me to listen. Not sure what made me do it but I looked back. Just in time to see a pair of eyes, yellow eyes looking directly at me before disappearing. They were only there for a few seconds but I know they were there.
