The monster came in line with Trauma’s shoulder, dwarfing Neeb, who looked up at it as it shook itself off.
While the other two strengthened immensely, Neeb was weakening. He was panting heavily as the pulsing mountains along his back leeched him of his power. His four split eyes were full of determination, even when they were in danger of being blinded by the massive blisters sprouting across his cheekbone.
“We should eat him” a voice hissed in my ear before a thin tongue ran over my cheek, the sandpaper texture ripping at my fur.
I turned, to find only a face stretched towards mine from the tree beside me; the metallic blue feathers on it bristling in excitement at the sight of me.
