A few minutes later Jacob walks into the room in his usual sweatpants and shirt. "I brought the book back," I said, standing up. I hand it over to him and he takes it. "Did you read it?" He asked flipping through the pages presumably to look for bookmarks. "Of course and I loved it- no sorry I lived it," I responded with a smile on my face. I can't believe I read a book with more than 300 pages. I have never pictured myself doing that but It isn’t a choice anyway, I had to do it because of Jacob. I need him to spend time with me so I can crack all the holes in this house but aside from that, I did enjoy the book.

Going to the movies with Liam this morning was such huge fun, I love Disney movies and doubt I’ll ever grow out of it. Idly, I scroll through TikTok then jump over to YouTube to catch up on some of my favorite book bloggers and see what they’ve been reading this month. A couple of books I haven’t read look good. Grabbing my journal and pen, I start to make notes so I don’t forget which ones I want to buy.

His posture was too relaxed, legs spread lazily, as though he wasn’t about to read forbidden love declarations in front of half the town. “Maya, can you…” I was about to ask her to find someone else to read but April interrupted me. “You know you can't say no when you're asked to read,” she said firmly. Should we read through it?” “That should be your decision to make,” I shrugged. “It’s your father’s, you should know best.” “Fine.” She tossed aside the spell book and opened up the journal. “Let’s read this.” “By the end of this all, I will probably read more books for Killian’s sake than I would ever think of doing for the rest of my life.” I sighed dramatically and came to stand beside her again. “Stop whining, you could be at a battlefield right now, but you are here, so shut up.”

Instead, she shifted gears, asking, "What were you reading?" I snapped my fingers, and my journal reappeared in my hand. It was a treasured possession, filled with entries spanning the past 100 years. I had amassed a collection of these journals, each one a testament to my love of recording every detail of my life. I wrote about experiences, adventures, thoughts, plans, and ideas - nothing was left unrecorded.
