I opened the first page, and there was a post-it note stuck on it: "I've highlighted all the places that I thought you might like. Hope that might help you with your search. —B" I flipped through the pages of the big book and noticed that Blake had gone through the entire book, highlighting the ones he thought I would like. He even wrote notes and comments on why he thinks I should check them out. There were at least hundreds of them! And on the very last page of the book, there was another post-it note stuck on it: "I'm sorry... I miss you :(" Oh, shit on a stick. Even I had to admit, this was really sweet...

I entered mine, went through the three books I had gotten from the store, and set them down on the bed. I folded my arms and read their names. The Claiming Rites, Finding the One, and Under the Red Moon. There was no order in which anyone should read these books, so I sat down and picked up The Claiming Rites. After an hour, I finished reading. The book made zero sense, and then I picked up Finding the One and spent another hour reading through it. While the first book was incomplete, the second made a little more sense. I picked up the third, which I had gone to Zion’s room with. I took my time reading, and another hour went by.

"Lord but what's the girl reading now?" Jenny sits in a chair by the fire, a coffee cup on the hearth one side of her, and next to it, an oddly coloured pebble, lined with rust and deep green stripes. "It's a book about geology. Mr Kalkowski lent it to me." She yells a protest as Brett snatches the book from her. "Let's have a look at it then." Mockery in his voice, "What have we here?" He flicks through pages then reads one of them, tracing the page with a forefinger, his lips moving silently.

I see David at the corner of my eyes , watching us. “Oh trust me , I will not say a thing – don’t want any one else to be scarred for life…” I chuckle. “Oh please…you have been blessed to see such romance – better than any porn video you will ever see” I chuckle at her. “That is what you think… You know I came across a book called “ How to please your man properly?” I think I should let you borrow it , so you can up your performance…” she gasps at what I say.

Within seconds, I was scanning lines that felt familiar, making me huff quietly. “This is what she reads?” I muttered, picking up another book with similar themes. This one was about a dominant executive and a stubborn assistant with heated exchanges disguised as professional conflict. Reaching for the third, I shook my head, amused despite myself. “So this is the narrative she consumes, no wonder she talks back.” I muttered, setting the novel down then reached for the stack beneath it. It was a leather bound journal which was worn slightly at the edges from use. I hesitated as personal journals were boundaries but curiosity has always been my flaw.

I took a pic of me eating and posted with the hashtag #latenightsnack I washed the leftover dishes and went upstairs to freshen up and get ready for bed When I came out of the bathroom the first thing I noticed was the brown paper packed with books and that old journal slipping out of my bag I crawled over to the middle of my bed to check it out. I opened the bag completely and brought out all the books, I picked up the journal and it actually looked really old, especially the leather on it, then I remembered Mr Jonathan's word's '...That book will test you...' I took a deep breath and opened the book. The pages were.... Blank?? I flipped through the book and it was the same I actually didn'
