“It’s humbling. It's honest and real.” I turned to face him. The setting sun fell across his face, lighting up his eyes and accentuating his gorgeous features. Not only was Gabe absolutely beautiful but it was becoming clear that he was also extremely deep and intelligent. “That was poetic,” I responded. “Did you write that yourself?” “No, but I have more.” He laughed and then put on his best serious expression again. “I’m small compared to the world. It’s just a fact. I just like to remind myself of it so that I can stay humble. Everyone can use more humility.”

Amanda giggled and took slow and cautious steps into the house. "This is anything but humble," she remarked as soon as she stepped inside, the house looks a bit smaller than her's but it's definitely not humble. The living room is very spacious and is coated in white paint, a plasma TV was positioned on the wall facing the expensive and clean-looking cushions on the parlor, separated only by a table that has a small flower vase on it.

Fuck now all the documents he was supposed to go through were ruined, it was a good thing he had a back up soft copy on his laptop he could always print out another copies but still the mess annoyed him. It was 11:00pm and after a day of long boring meetings and countless documents to go through he was edgy but not tired, he was used to working long hours he didn't get this far by slacking off. He owned the hotel that housed his penthouse it was so much better than living in a regular house it saved him so much stress. The penthouse had three bedrooms including a bathroom in each of them, a livingroom, kitchen, pantry, gym, study which was his favorite part of the house, and a swimming pool.

“Certainly, I will ask the nurse to accompany us.” “Perfect.” After a long drive, they arrived at the small village where lived Mark's uncle. Andry got off the car and walked between the trees until he spotted the house. The small cottage was perched on the plain near the woods, so old and poor, but it looked alive and welcoming, a warm ribbon of smoke rising from the old chimney. The walls were made of the same wood and the roof was stone, so old that it was a wonder how it did not yet cave in. The cottage was the only thing there. There were no other houses around it.

The abbot smiled amicably and said, "Of course my lords. This humble one will do everything in his power to assist you in your investigation. Please do come in." I shall not lie. I was rather taken aback by the amicable and humble looks of this abbot, but if looks could fool me so easily I would have died a thousand deaths under the hands of my seemingly lovable stepmother by now. I only inaudibly nodded and followed behind the meek-looking abbot.

He added, sitting immediately on one of the leather chairs in the sitting room. "Well welcome to my humble home." I replied, gesticulating widely. "Wait! What is so humble about this beautiful home, everything in it smells money, like it is well polished for a royal family." he said, nodding his head like an agama lizard. "It's okay, Abdul, you haven't stopped with this your over exaggerations ? I know you, just be turning every small thing into a big deal, okay? This your mouth won't kill you but it will definitely put you into trouble, a very big one." I said sarcastically and we both started laughing out loudly like hyenas.

I⁠ was go⁠ing to be the childhood he nev⁠er had. "Change of‍ plans," I a‍nnounced as the cottage came into‍ view. ‍It w‍as a beautiful, weathe‍red s‌hingl⁠e house perched on a low‌ dune, sur⁠rounded b‍y wi‍ld beach grass. It looked lived-in and h⁠umble, a far cry from t‌he‍ glass-and-s‌teel fortress in the city.

It held her in place and she subconsciously, wanted to stay and look at the most beautiful thing her eyes had ever seen. Humble home? This was anything but humble. Before she could catch herself, she chuckled. It was loud enough for his sharp ears. "This is anything but humble. Sir," Ava added. The smile spread, that he almost laughed. Squinting at her, "what would you call it?" His voice was husky and almost in whispers. It felt like his voice was drawing her out. Ava had never felt like that and it made the gears in her head to spin without control.

I push away the urge to call the agent and tell them this place is a dump. “It’s okay, Jayden. It looks worse than it is.” “I’m all for rustic,” I say as I get Abbey off my shoulders and we walk in through the front door. “But, Winona, are you sure this is even healthy for Abby? It looks downright grimy.” “I’ll clean it. It’ll be fine. As you said, watertight and warm.” “Is this like one of those tiny homes?” “No. This is a 2-bedroom cottage. A tiny home would fit inside the lounge area.”

I said, rolling my eyes. “Oh please. But then, my money is yours to do as you wish.” He said. I knew he said it to be a joke. Or that was what I thought. But then, it sounded very sincere too. “Don't say cheesy things like that.” I told him and he laughed. “But it's true though.” He said and thank God, he pulled over at the main house. “Here you are. Welcome to my….” “If you say humble abode, I would hit you over the head. There is nothing humble about this mansion in front of me.” I found myself saying. I stepped out, craning my head to look at the house
