THREE YEARS AGO I heard the sound of breaking glass from a distance and the shouts of people outside. It was chaos. I hurried inside to where my husband was sleeping before I left. What I saw almost made me faint. I saw my husband lying lifeless on the ground in a pool of his own blood. I cried and screamed in pain, but it didn't change the fact that my husband was already dead. At first, I thought it was a dream, but after several attempts to help him, he remained lifeless. I knew this wasn't a dream.

What a complete failure our eight years of marriage had been. Meanwhile, Catherine cried until she passed out. Orlando carried her and headed outside with her child.
