Just as she was about to explode in anger, Tristan quickly softened his voice to comfort her. “Fifi, you’re still recovering from postpartum. You shouldn’t get worked up.” He was emboldened by his coworkers closely surrounding him. He took a deep breath and asserted himself. “Stop this nonsense! My only wife is Fifi.” His eyes were filled with utter disgust. “You couldn’t get me to love you back after chasing me for five years, and now you resort to slander and revenge? That’s just sick.” I had long prepared the evidence of his affair. I scoffed and threw our marriage certificate at his face.

At first glance, she bore a slight resemblance to me. Many thought Harrison was showing his love for me to the world. The comment thread was flooded with endless well wishes. I couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity. Even on our seventh wedding anniversary, my husband was openly flaunting his affair with his mistress. I replaced them with my wedding ring, that would be the last thing I ever gave him. He took the box, curious.

I didn’t owe him an answer. I got dressed and glanced down at his underwear on the floor. God, just yesterday that tiny little thing wrapping him up… wow. My mind immediately cooked up a crazy idea. “Hey… what brand are these?” I asked, picking them up. He smirked. “Oh? You still care? Planning to buy a pair for your husband?” “Bingo,” I winked. “You’re serious?” His pupils went wide. Absolutely serious. Revenge time. My husband used to shower me with expensive bags after he cheated—gifts for his guilt. I could basically count his affairs by the bags in my closet. Pathetic, right? I know. I was pathetic.

Even though our marriage has slowly withered since her return, when Gary told me he had booked a reservation for our anniversary, a glimmer of hope shone in my heart. His eyes shifted toward the trash bin near the door, where shards of glass glinted under the light. His shoulders relaxed slightly. Then, placing his coat aside, he pulled out a shopping bag containing a Louis Vuitton purse. “I didn’t get a chance to give you your gift yesterday,” he said. “I got this for you. Happy anniversary.” He set the bag on the bed. For a moment, I wondered if I had misheard him. Three years of marriage, and he finally remembered our anniversary? But then I glanced at the receipt—the purchase had been made just thirty minutes ago.

It was classic and just like the clothes he wear.
