I cleaned up the kitchen and went to bed as fast as I could, specifically so I would not have to see Lucas again before sleep. However, sometime in the middle of the night I was too thirsty to keep my eyes closed. I got up to go to the kitchen for water. I thought Lucas was out cold. The second I came around the couch, his hand shot up and caught my wrist and pulled me into him. Most women who marry a twin have thought about it at least once. What it would feel like with the brother. What it would be like to be touched by the same face, different hands. A small, stupid fantasy everyone has.

Children born from two uteruses are extremely similar in every way. When Mom was pregnant, one uterus carried me, and the other carried my sister. I was Dad’s child, but this twin was the child of my mom and her childhood sweetheart. Mom, greedy as ever, knew that if her affair were discovered, she would be forced out of the family and lose everything. So from pregnancy to birth, she hid my sister’s existence. Over the years, she tried to starve me and even push my father off a cliff, all to claim the entire inheritance and run away with my sister and her childhood sweetheart.

"Of course not!" I sat down. It was almost funny, attending my own wife's wedding and whatnot. I started looking around. Before long, the older woman beside me struck up a conversation. "Those two look perfect together, don't they? It wasn't easy for them to get married." I gritted my teeth, but the bitterness still came. "What made it hard?"

Each time he sat by the window, he would remember the way I used to eat with my head down back in college. He said he had kept the fountain pen in the deepest drawer, never giving it to anyone again. He said he finally understood that marriage wasn't just about keeping me by his side, but about making me feel at ease with each passing day. He said what he regretted the most wasn't losing a wife, but losing the version of me who used to be happy for an entire day just from ranking second in his heart. The last thing he said was, "Natasha, I'm sorry. And thank you for once having loved me so earnestly."

“Stop joking with me! Help me clear my name! How can you just stand by while someone uses dirty tricks to ruin your wife?” That final word—“wife”—sent shivers down everyone’s spines. Emma truly had no shame left. She dared to remind him of a title she had single-handedly destroyed. Even the bystanders were furious on Alden’s behalf. At the lowest point of disgrace, she still refused to admit fault. Still greedy. Still shamelessly clinging to a title that no longer belonged to her. It was pathetic… and utterly despicable.

A video played from the disk, and what he witnessed next was something that made his eyes go wide in disbelief. The video was a CCTV footage of a hospital ward dated many years ago, the people in the video was none other than his first wife, Anna, and his second wife, Merry. The two were sisters, where Merry was a good three years younger than Anna. The video was on the setting when his first wife was trying to recover from her cancerous sickness, it affected her heart greatly.

" Mark quickly noticed me covering my stomach and tried to touch it. I bit his hand hard. He stepped back in pain, and his expression darkened as he glared at my stomach without saying a word. "Get rid of the baby and come with me. I don't mind that you've been with Andy! "Claire, come with me. Let's start over, okay?" Mark reached out and gently tugged at my hand. I slapped him hard across the face. "Stop dreaming! Let me go now, or my husband will never let you get away with this!" I shouted at him repeatedly.

It was as if that man, her husband, became more and more repulsive. Elena sat at the desk and opened her laptop. She was a brilliant mind and loved to develop technological projects. It was a pity that her work never materialized. She was a faithful and dedicated wife. All that truly mattered was to satisfy her husband's whims. But as she looked at the screen, she couldn't help but feel stupid and naive. What good was it to be a good wife if Damon was unfaithful? That was her husband, Damon Donovan. They had been married for three years but he never once touched her. He'd rather indulge himself in alcohol and women outside.

I wish that I could explain things to them but I doubt if they will even understand me at all. "You want to tell me what the hell is wrong with you, and why you are behaving like some cartoon character? You didn't bring the document we needed for the pitching that we needed to do. Have you suddenly lost your head and gone nuts? I don't understand you anymore." Reed said and I chuckled. "What do you think Reed? I have my wife come back to this city and she didn't just come. She brought with her two little princes, I have never felt as good in years as I feel right now." I said to him and tapped his shoulder.

I've gone to great lengths to ask Damon to leave my life, but he's the one who keeps holding me back. "I didn't pursue Damon at all. I even asked him to divorce me and ask him to marry you, but what did he say? He refused, in fact he clung to me even more. He even said he would keep me as his legal wife! Meanwhile, you're going to be a second wife, which of course means you'll be the butt of everyone's ridicule for being second. I wish you realized that the status of a second wife is the lowest status in this world. No woman wants to be the second woman. It's not like you to be so proud of that. You're so shameless."
