Mystery Book Recommendations Novels & Stories

The bookstore smells like it always has—old paper, lavender sachets tucked between shelves, the faint metallic tang of the ancient radiator that clanks every twelve minutes. Elena's already in our corner when I arrive. Second floor. Mystery section. The window seat we claimed sophomore year when we discovered this place and decided civilized people read mysteries in natural light. She's got coffee. Two cups. Mine's still steaming. I take it without speaking. Sip. Perfect. "Ten minutes late." Elena doesn't look up from the window. "Parallel parking a moving truck on Seventh?"

I sat beside her, and she immediately stretched her legs back out, her feet landing in my lap. "What are you reading?" She held up the book without looking away from the page. "A mystery novel. A detective in Victorian London." I caught sight of the cover. A woman in a low-cut dress leaned against a man in a top hat, their faces inches apart in the fog. The Scarlet Letter Murders. I grabbed the book from her hands. "Hey!" She sat up, reaching for it. I flipped through a few pages. My eyes landed on a passage. His mouth found the hollow of her throat as his fingers worked the laces of her corset…

I went ahead to kiss her forehead and wished her a good night rest before getting back into my car. When I got home,I couldn't cook any meal cos I was so famished and can't bring myself to cooking dinner. I ordered for pizza and ate it with beer. I had a shower later then watched news for a while before going to bed. I couldn't sleep and was imagining what it was gonna be like to have Linda on my bed cuddling. With that,I stood up and took my coat ;the one I wore to work today, wrapped it after inhaling her scent, placed it beside me on the bed and cuddled it as if it were Linda. Before I knew it,I was already dozing off."Strange things love can do to a man"I thought sleeping.

I said and she shrugged "So, tell me mom. Let's talk about this now. What is it about Adrian touching that book which makes you so scared?" I said and she looked at me for some time and sat saying "Elsa. This book contain somethings Adrian doesn't need to know if he opens it. It will make him uncontrollable and you'll lose him. Yes, it's a sacred book and it should help him. But they are still some mysteries. If he finds out now. It will only bring more tention between the natural and the supernatural...and hence, the natural will be destroyed in the process...and that's only going to be a disaster that will never end. Except, there's a sealed being--" she stopped not finishing her statement

My gaze trails across the shelves… until one in particular catches my attention. My feet carry me toward a shelf tucked into the far left corner of the lowest level. I don’t know why, but something about it pulls me in like an invisible thread guiding my steps. The closer I get, the stronger the sensation grows. The hairs on my arms rise. Mystical wolves. That’s what the plaque above the shelf reads, written in old silver script. I scan the spines of the books. Most are worn, dusty, untouched for years. One of them catches my eye. A thick, royal blue book with no title. Just a crescent white moon etched in the center of the cover.

Then he left. "Thief!?" She whispered. She didn't understand what was going on? She asked the girl in the room about this. "Why did they said that I'm a thief." "I don't know. But, I heard that you stole the king's very important book." The girl replied. Chenyin became confused. Stole? The king's book? What is she talking about? Finally she realized about the secret book. Where is it? She remembered that brother Jiao Long put it in a safe place. Did the king found it.

, I asked him That depends upon the risk factor that you want to take because reading this book is not at all good and I would better suggest you to just let it go off and just burn it down because if you try to unravel the mystery of this book then it might try to save itself in process of which it can even harm or can even take your life which won't be good for you”, she explains the answer of my question

No one has found the bodies yet, though, so theres still a lingering hope out there that they're alive. I sigh as I crawl under the thick quilt, flicking on the lamo beside me as I pull out my latest find at Barnes and Nobels: The Winter Garden by the famous Kristin Hannah. This woman's books are truly amazing. Then, after an hour long reading session, I find my eyes beginning to shut against my will, so I set down the book on the bedside table and shut off the lamp. ~ The next morning...

“Look at me. I am pure mundane, yet I have more understanding of things than most magicals that I’ve met. I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t resent it sometimes.” “Does it help you to decipher who’s the good guy and who’s the bad?” I asked with sincerity as my mind went to thoughts of Cecil and Archie. “What do you mean?” she asked. “I was trained as a private investigator. We’re supposed to be able to read body language and the like. Yet, I was fooled by my last client and, now, Nora is in a brothel in another dimension and I barely escaped with my life,” I said. “You’re referring to your neighbors, the Havershafts. Right?” she asked.

After repositioning myself back onto it, I spread the afghan over both of us. After thanking me, profusely, for the warmth, she cocked her head in mock thought. “Such a mystery. He doesn’t want us to rob a bank with him or something, does he? Tell me he’s not broke and this isn’t all a façade.” “If only he just wanted us to rob a bank,” I said in a whiny tone. “I could handle that a lot better, I think.” “Don’t leave me in suspense, Esmerelda,” she scolded. “You know how I hate it. That’s why I could never do what you do. I can’t stand mystery.”
