He did not sound like a man repeating gossip. He sounded like someone stating a truth he had long accepted. “Then you believe you have no heart?” A faint smile touched his lips. “I am the Demon King, after all.” He said it lightly, almost as if it were a joke. But it did not feel like one. Everything she had heard about the Demon King had been shaped by fear and exaggeration, distorted through the mouths of others, yet the man standing before her did not resemble the monster of those stories.

My heart was beginning to beat hard against my chest as I fearfully awaited the completion of his sentence. "I only got a response from King Montero, and he's agreed to pair you with his second son, Hyde," his words hit me hard across the ear. Hyde? The name resounded horrifically through my head. The most ruthless being considered to ever walk the earth. He was called the Demon King. Everyone was terrified of him including his father, I could tell it was pretty much the reason he wanted to trap him into marriage. Suddenly, my painful rejection that had taken place a few minutes ago felt like a lightweight compared to the bomb that had just been dropped on me.

He walked through the front door without even opening it, his body floated through as if he was a ghost. The demon king has powers that are most diverse. The normal demons might have confined powers, such as some might control a certain aspect of the weather or an element of the earth, some might be capable of shape shifting. However, the Demon King’s title awarded him much more flexibility with his abilities.

Kicking in her sleep as she prepared to dislodge him from her. Remembering her vow that she’d never again let him put a hand on her.

She gasped, and I chuckled. "My mother was a vampire princess, and apparently my father was a demon." I shrugged my shoulders. "Dominic explained to me that it was my demon, the one who took most of the torture of my early years, so that side of me is the one becoming feral with the passing of time." I explained, "He is the Demon King, so he can..." I paused, "He can command you," she sighed, and I nodded. "See? I am going to be well cared for," I smiled, and the concern in her eyes changed.

I didn’t even notice this until now. If I jumped from this height, I might have multiple fractured bones if I managed to survive the fall. Ney paced restlessly within me. She, too, wanted us to escape from here. I have a bad feeling about this whole arrangement, but I still can’t understand why. “He is coming for us.” Ney’s voice suddenly echoed in my ears. I paused. The words echoed like bells in my mind. “What?” Ney growled. “The Demon King, he is coming for us.”

She let the peanut dust drop to the floor like an hourglass running out of time. "He's different. He'll wipe you all out. He bring misery to The Demon Hunters!" Luciano didn't believe. So far, all the demons she killed was weaker than her. Nothing was exciting enough to tempt her to be interested. "The Demon Emperor will come for you!" The demon man said.

"I have the demon king by my side." "The demon king?" Damon chuckled, his confidence unwavering. "The combined strength of you both cannot even match my power. I am the Vampire king, the mightiest of magic and sorcery," he declared boldly. I could see Nicholas visibly tremble, and the demon king remained silent, his expression blank.

It’s time to draw the curtains yet he’s still not ready. Hellion burst inside the room with a ragged breath. She looked up and stared at the Demon King sitting on his throne. After a bit of hesitation, she finally went and ascend the stairs. The silly girl rubbed her stomach as her gaze fixated on him. She then said in a serious voice. “Tell me the truth.” The silly girl stared deeply into the crimson eyes. She slowly walked up to him and paused in front of his leisured appearance. The demon king was silent. He didn’t speak for a long time as the atmosphere turned to be a bit complicated between them.
