(21+++) Kedua kakak beradik Nathan berusia 17 tahun dan Nela berusia 15 tahun, terus berlari menembus hutan belantara, hutan terlarang yang jarang dikunjungi manusia. Dengan Kaki yang berdarah akibat pukulan sebilah bambu sang ibu sambung, Nela terus mengikuti kakaknya. Kesalahan kecil menumpahkan nasi sebakul membuat Nela harus menerima kemarahan ibu. Bukan hanya sekali Nathan menyaksikan adiknya disiksa, dari kesalahan kecil, menumpahkan nasi, pulang terlambat satu menit saja dari sekolah maka adiknya itu harus mengalami cidera yang tak sedikit jumlahnya disekujur tubuh. Nathan tak tahu kenapa ibunya sangat membenci Nela, terkadang dia yang harus melindungi tubuh adiknya dari pukulan sang ibu. Hutan itu terlalu gelap namun mereka tak berhenti berlari, sampai Nela berseru. "Kakak, aku tak kuat lagi" Nathan berpaling, luka di betis adiknya membiru dengan beberapa tetes darah yang telah mengering, bisa dibayangkan bagaimana perihnya terkena sabetan bambu yang sudah dipersiapkan ibu setiap kali Nela berbuat kesalahan sekecil apapun itu. Hati Nathan tersayat, ini tak bisa dibiarkan, jika terus berlanjut maka dia akan menyaksikan adiknya itu mati didepannya, itu yang ibu sambungnya inginkan. Ayahnya yang harus mengais rezeki di rantau orang sebagai TKI, pulang setahun sekali, tak tahu sama sekali apa yang menimpa mereka berdua. Rintihan Nela membuat Nathan tersentak. "Tahan sebentar dek, sedikit lagi kita akan tiba dihutan dimana ibu tak akan menemukan kita" Namun Nathan salah, ibunya dan beberapa masyarakat mengejar mereka.....
