Hunters. “Shadowthorn sends a message!” one roared. “The Alpha wants his heirs!” Aria shoved the twins behind her, blades already drawn. “Over my dead body.” Luka’s shadows flared. Lila growled, tiny body vibrating with power. The lead hunter lunged. Aria met him mid air, driving both blades into his chest. Hot blood sprayed across her face. She twisted, using his momentum to slam him into the second attacker. Luka’s shadows wrapped the third wolf’s legs, yanking him down. Lila pounced, ripping out his throat with a snarl that was far too mature for her age.

“Thank you, I can only hope to one day be in your shadow.” After the translation the professor let out a shocking laugh. I looked at the translator confused. “Sweetheart, you and Noora are leaps and bounds ahead of the professor especially given your age, and you are not in his shadow, you are both now his North Star.” The driver came with the car and as if on autopilot I got in. I was stunned, just stunned. I thought my ridiculous smile would forever be stuck on my face.

Johnny rolled his eyes, making no attempts to stop the witch as she stormed out of the kitchen. It had been several hours since Ursula made her discovery and since then, everyone had been flying around the place trying to slow down a mass shift. However, Johnny couldn't help but think they were too late. Now the wolven spirits had been given a chance to awaken, they would do what they could to stay awake.
