Lottie POV I stood in the doorway, my heart pounding as I listened to the muffled conversation Adam was having. The smell of sweet potato fries wafted through the air, a scent so familiar it almost made me dizzy. Adam had put them in the air fryer before leaving the room. I wasn't stupid, I knew exactly who he was on the phone too even if he was trying hard to keep it from me. It was Kane. He was the only one who knew how much I loved them. the fact he remembered that detail, even now had me smiling despite myself.

" Adam's voice pulled him out of his murderous thoughts. Liam blinked to see his claws had already fully extended from his hands. The name Kai was like poison to him, scaling his skin burning through his soul and until he made sure Kai stopped to walk the face of the earth he would never feel satisfied. I didn’t want him to pick me so why did I get this dreadful feeling each time I thought about him picking anyone else. I was brought back to my senses when the Luna announced she would begin with the girls ranked nine.
