The Hybrid's Mate
“Hey.”
Hearing Natalie's voice from behind me, I turn around to face her. The sun is sinking in the sky, making its descent into the next day and the golden rays dance through the trees to land on her. Standing in the garden, in her green outfit and her magnificent eyes, bathed in the sunset glow, she looks like a forest nymph rising from the pages of a storybook.
I can only stare at her, taking in her beauty as a starving man takes in food, as words escape me at the moment. Luckily she does not have that problem as she says, “Your ready to go? Or would you rather stand here all night?”
